I?ve been a huge fan of this restaurant for some time and have been sick and unable to really eat for about a week now?day 1 of... feeling better I wanted to eat fish grill but am limited to what may upset my stomach. When ordering, I shared my excitement ofbeing able to eat again and shared some diet restrictions I had. When sharing, Bertha made helpful suggestions and asked thecook to prepare my order a certain way to ensure I?d be able to eat it. Everything was absolutely amazing. I was hesitant at first... Not everyone can do catfish, how I like. Boy was I wrong, the... Shrip Screws and Asperagas was delicious as well. The reviews don't lie on "California Fish Grill" as they are one of the most consistent and delicious seafood eateries in the... area. I have been an avid fan of this place ever since this location opened its doors back in late-2018. Situated at the verybusy Howe Bout Arden shopping district, this location is tucked directly under Punch Line Comedy Club and adjacent to Arden Way.They also opened a second location in early-2019 on Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights at the Sunrise Marketplace. There areseveral words that come to mind to describe this place; fresh, friendly, filling, consistent, affordable, and delicious. As Ihave eaten at their sister store in Citrus Heights which is much closer to my home, the first time I ate at the Arden locationwas on Saturday 9/18/2021 at around 6:00pm. One thing about this place is that it is very spacious, clean, and inviting. Thereare several tables for large parties as well as fairly generous outdoor patio seating for the more comfortable Sacramentodays. The menu itself is quite extensive as they focus primarily on healthy, fresh seafood options that includes salmon, swai,Mahi Mahi, tilapia, shrimp, ahi tuna, calamari, catfish, and rockfish. For the non-pescatarians, they do offer grilled/breadedchicken, fries, street corn, asparagus, & Brussels sprouts. Best of all, their drink options include a self-serve Stubborn sodastation (try saying that 5 times) as well as a few beer & wine options to compliment your meal. I ended up ordering a healthylow-carb option that included their "Salmon & Swai Combo" with a side of cauliflower rice & grilled rosemary zucchini with adrizzle of garlic butter Swai sauce. Since my friend is not a big fish eater, he ended up going with their "Grilled ChickenBreast" while choosing fire roasted street corn and pinto beans as his sides. It's a rare occasion that I actually crave fish but last Sunday happened to be one of those fish craving kind of days! I... searched on Postmates and found this gem of a restaurant. I ordered the Crispy Battered Swai, Rosemary Zucchini, GrilledAsparagus, Street Corn, Glazed Brussel Sprouts and Side Salad with a side of tartar sauce. Within 40 minutes, my order arrived! I began to unpack the contents of the bag. Everything smelled amazing! I have to admit, I was a little bummed out at firstthat with my order, there was no tartar sauce, but, when I lifted the lid to my Crispy Battered Swai, an aroma explosion filledmy nose. The aroma was pleasant, not too fishy, but sensationally satisfying. I picked up the Swai and took a bite! Instantaneously, my taste buds were tickled with an abundance of flavor; so much flavor that I forgot all about my missingtartar sauce. It wasn't needed! The flavor of the fish was so amazing, that no accompaniment was needed and, after completelydevouring the three pieces of Swai, I started on the zucchini and corn! Both were equally as flavorful as the fish and werecompletely satisfying. The zucchini was cooked to perfection, not soggy or smelly as zucchini can often get when steamed orovercooked. The street corn had a wonderful kick of a spice to it but balanced by the corn's natural sweet nature. I saved thesalad, asparagus and glazed brussel sprouts for lunch the next day and I am so glad that I did! The flavor marinated on thevegetables even more overnight and led to a perfect lunch! The staff are very helpful and nice. Place is clean. I ordered Shrimp and Calamari Classic with fries. I saw the shrimp, but the... calamari was short and thin. I had to ask where the calamari was. Lol There were 5 tiny pieces. My order was mediocre or less,but I tried my friends' fish, it was good. Their Kaleslaw was soggy ok. I don't have to come back anymore. Read more
