It was my first time at this location and it was great! I'm so high maintenance at Buckhorn because I like so many specific... things and want them all together. So my go to is the Asian Chicken salad in a tortilla bowl and instead of tortilla strips Iget the fried onion strings. It is so frickin' good!! I usually ask for the dressing on the side, however, because sometimesthey can br heavy handed when mixing it in. My BF got the pulled pork tacos and said they were good. Plus he got the tri tipbites, and it was way too much food. What's great is that their leftovers are really delicious as well. The staff was superfriendly and efficient. I got the regular chicken platter and one cocktail and the cost was about $40. The food was good, Maybe even really goodAnd... Pretty Fresh and healthy. The portion was just enough for one meal - in fact I was still a little hungry and asked what kind ofdessert they had only to be told they already closed the cash register and I couldn't order anything else. So to me the valueisn't there to go very often for a regular Monday night meal - if the portion were bigger and there was a little leftover forlunch the next day or if they had some midweek or after work special of the day Then I would be a regular.. However I will saythat my fairly particular Three-year-old nephew with severe allergies really likes it here-he always finishes his plate(Including vegetables) and has never had a reaction! Read more
This was my first visit to the Buckhorn BBQ and I was impressed. The service was excellent and fast, and the entire staff was... very friendly. The place was very clean and welcoming, but the food. O my gosh the prime rib was awesome. I should have knownwhen I was asked hiw I wanted the meat cooked and they recommended medium rare that it was going to be great. A fantastic BBQ place to eat in Sacramento. I was fairly impressed with this visit. I decided on the fish tacos. They were... crispy and quite tasty. The best part was that I had my food roughly 5 minutes after ordering. It was a good quick in and outthat was quite satisfying. There?s outdoor seating available for those nice weather days. The special sauces were to die for,especially the chipotle ranch. Try it out. So good! Read more
Was working across the street so I tried it for lunch. I had the tri tip with blue cheese crumbles it was delicious and the... apple slaw was a bit bland but over all a great sandwich. The four stars because the amount of meat was a little conservativebut it was cooked very good. Read more
My husband really enjoys this place and we've been here before with great food. Tonight's visit was different. Great staff and... service but the burgers were like charcoal patties. Not appetizing. My pulled pork sandwich was delicious though. Just wish theburgers has been decent. Read more
I drove by Buckhorn BBQ and thought of the ?Buckhorn? restaurant that I used to go to in the ?Metreon Building??? in San... Francisco. I had recalled, I used to order a large salad with steak and onion strings that was a favorite of mine. I hadwondered if this was the same restaurant chain? I decided to go in and check it out. I saw the ?Roadhouse? salad on the menu. Ihad tri tip beef added to the salad and fortunately it appeared to be the same as I remembered from long ago! The salad waslarge and was delicious with string beans, tomatoes, blue cheese and a good vinaigrette. Tri tip was a perfect medium rare! Ihad to pack up half of the salad to take with me for a second meal. I was very happy to rediscover Buckhorn and this salad. Iwill definitely be back! Read more
