Great food and service! Rachael (server) had great recommendations and we got to talk to Chef Fecedio who made us some amazing... dishes! I never get to outside my comfort zone with sushi- but did here was so glad I did. My favorite were the pork bao andcrispies. Can't wait to come back! Read more

This place is overpriced. A 10 piece nigiri set will set you back like $50, and the serving sizes tend to be small. A lot of... authentic, high-quality sushi restaurants sell sushi sets for far less--for context, Hajime in Harrison lists their 9 piece and1 roll set for $28. Also, the fish in the nigiri is cooked--I understand that the restaurant is going for a non-traditional typeof sushi; however, I'm not a fan. You can't really taste the freshness of the fish that one would expect from high-quality sushisold at a high price. Needless to say, my last visit to Oko in Rye left me yearning for a lot more. Small pricey pieces of fish. No regular rolls, only hand rolls. But the fish was very good. I would consider this a "novelty"... sushi place. Not what I'm looking for when I want to satisfy my sushi fix. We also had fois gras dumplings, and pork belly boa, which were both good. So I'm a little conflicted only giving them three stars. But I went there to celebrate a special occasion, and can't away with a meh feeling. I'd go back, but I'm in no hurry to do so. Read more

The sushi was delicious. Small portions, well presented and very flavorful. If you are hungry, though, it can be quite an... expensive dinner. The cocktails are interesting. Made with fresh ingredients, they tend to on the bland side. The Ginger andLychee were barely detectable our drinks. Servers were very attentive and courteous. Overall a very good b-day dinner. Wow!! I forget everything that we ordered, and ate; but holy cow was it all good!! So, I can't really describe what's in the... photos too well other than saying that it was pure goodness and savory. The beef in the bento box (the 1st pic) was tender, cooked just right, and was full of flavor. The 2nd pic shows various items that we ordered, and I can say that every item wasdelicious. My only complaint is that I didn't have enough room in my stomach to eat it all, because I would have if I couldhave. The cocktails were great; I do remember that I had a Japanese Old Fashioned that was just pure perfection. Friendlystaff, that are knowledgeable on the menu items, and they make great suggestions and recommendations on things that you shouldtry. Make sure you stop by, and see for yourself. You definitely won't be disappointed! Read more

My wife and I decided to give Oko another shot after having dined here in January for my birthday despite being disappointed... initially. Our initial experience was incredibly overbearing service, over-salted food and absurdly small portions. Sadly anddisappointingly, nothing has changed. This time we chose to order to go. When I arrived home and took out the order, we were soshocked by the portions that my wife assumed I left something in the bag. Needless to say, the portions are criminally small andoverpriced. We both are again still hungry despite spending $97. Won?t be going back a 3rd time. Read more

Beautiful space. Fish quality is OK. Presentation is good. But the flavors have room for improvement. Update : October 2020... Revisit I appreciate the friendly staff and under current climate, it is nicely spaced out for dining. But the food still needsimprovement. I certainly expected more from a talented team. Read more
