We?ve been going to the Risotto House for many years. It has always been excellent, however the last couple of times we went, I... ordered my favorite, the Risotto Formaggio, and it wasn?t very good. Bland and tasteless would be an accurate description. I?ll never order it here again. We went here with another couple recently and I doubt if we?ll ever go back. Thehostess/waitress was very rude and impatient. She had a sour lemon personality. The girl cleaning the tables kept trying toclean off our plates and we weren?t done yet. She kept asking if we were done and was clearly perturbed that we wouldn?t lether take our dishes. One glass of water and that was it, never refilled. The place wasn?t even that busy. We had coffee andtalked a little bit and we felt that the hostess and waitresses kept glaring at us like they needed the table (there wasn?tanyone waiting). Instead of a relaxing dinner with friends, we left very aggravated. The Risotto House used to be one of ourgo-to places, what happened? Read more

I have ordered food for takeout and/or delivery before. It was always delicious. my husband and I went there during this past... week. Ester was an incredible waitress and catered to our every need. She pointed us to the perfect wine store where we couldget a good wine at a good price. The food was so excellent. I had the short ribs in a port wine sauce with risotto. There wasno way I could finish my meal because I eat very very small meals throughout the day. So when I had my food packed up, Irequested extra port wine sauce because it is incredible. They gave it to me and the leftovers were wonderful Just placedanother order for the short ribs and ask for a side of mashed potatoes in addition to the risotto because the mashed potatoes gogreat with the sauce. Esther completely understood. She knew the sauce was so good that I could go to the restaurant and justdrink the sauce!!! She's awesome. The food is awesome. We had a wonderful time. Read more

The food was good. But unforgivable is a waitress in an Italian restaurant who not only mispronounced "Bruschetta", but corrects... me because she is so confident in her mispronunciation. Read more

It was an ok experience, had the caprese with fresh mozzarella , Tom, and prosciutto, it literally had 3 small slices of... prosciutto, and also had for an app seafood salad , no taste what?s so ever, the dinner portions were very small, I had vealfrachese and my girlfriend had veal balsamic, food was good just small portions. Hostess I guess was was manager, hostess andserver all in one. Never came over to check if our food was ok. And the greeting was not good at all when we walked in. Won?t beback for awhile u til I find out they have improved in these areas. Read more

Let me start with the positive, the food was pretty good. My husband and I shared the rice ball appetizer which was great. I had... risotto with shrimp, tomato and spinach. It was decent. The sauce on my husband's chicken parmigiana was also good. That iswhere the positive ends. The service was absolutely the worst! The hostess that sat us, who I think was the owner, was rude andabrupt. We had to ask for water several times before someone actually brought it. Not once did a server ask if the food was okor if we needed anything. When we asked for the check we weren't even acknowledged but we heard the hostess tell a server "theyneed the check". We will never go back. Read more

Will go again - Now, I am no risotto expert, but I don't know how many risotto specific restaurants there are. However, Risotto... House in Rutherford is a must for those who enjoy a risotto dish. I have to say the beginning of my experience was cautiousbecause I wasn't greeted very well. When I arrived waiting to be seated, no one came up to me. Then, when I asked for a table, the waiter looks at the clock based on the ~1 hr. time until they closed. It wasn't very inviting regardless of the short timeto close. But, this was somewhat corrected with average waiter service after I sat down. I ordered the risotto con rigola, radicchio gambieri and my I must say that I was surprised on how good this dish was. The inclusion of the radicchio complementedthis dish tremendously. It adds a delicious crunchy and earthy taste to every bite. As usual, the risotto was very creamy andthe shrimp added a good buttery seafood taste to the dish. I'm quite interested on how good their other risotto dishes mustbe. The interior is what you would typically find in an Italian restaurant. It has a good, fancy setup good for a casual ordate night. The parking is abundant with metered sidewalk parking along Park Ave. Read more

Haven't been to the Risotto in years, that was our biggest mistake. Revisited Saturday night and to our delight it was... fantastic. Rice balls as an app were the best we've ever tried, stuffed pork chop, or should I say pork chops on the bone in amarsala sauce were out if this world, the Rigatoni Bolognese with peas and mushrooms in a creamy red sauce was an exceptional experience. Unfortunately after the bread, the apps and dinner, not to mention a bottle of wine, we just couldn't do dessert.Next time. Go...but make reservations. Read more
