A friend of mine told me this place was in his top 3 Mexican joints in the area so I gave it a try on the way home from Jackson,... MS. This is an older building but my friend says he likes this one better than the new one they built on the next exit down. Iwas seated quickly but it took a few minutes to get chips & salsa and for them to take my order. They didn't seem to have manypeople working on this Friday night. But I'm sure much of the traffic has shifted to their new location. I enjoyed the chips &salsa. They were above average for our area. I ordered the Steak Street Tacos and they were excellent. The steak had such agreat flavor and was tender unlike most Mexican restaurants. Steak seems to be one of their specialties judging from themenu. Would I go back? That answer is definitely. So visiting this restaurant for the first time, I?m from Georgia. Ciara is our server and I ask her for drink specials. Ciara... tells me they have but one get one free margarita?s. I?m like cool. So I ordered and my mom ordered one since she was on myticket. We ordered our food and it was not the best. I LOVE LOVE MEXICAN and I?ve ate at a lot of Mexican restaurants and by farthis one was the worse. What made it worse is at the end, Ciara tells us the SPECIAL is per person. I?m like well you didn?t saythat initially and since I have my mom on my ticket that?s my second drink. Then she tells the manager and he tries to explainthen tells us he is going to charge for plastic ware. I?m like huh, then he says they are not. Then Ciara brings the bill outand never asked if we were together or separate. Then the bill has a service fee and I ask what?s that for she said for using acredit card but again that was not relayed and how do you know we were using a credit card? Oh and to top it off she tells meshe has been a SERVER there for 2 years, andddddddd! Not sure what her point was! Overall customer service was terrible and thefood was not good. Service mediocre at best. Food decent but for the price I expected better though presentation was great your food should follow.... I ordered the ribeye medium rare came well done.
