The oysters are unique and I really enjoy the different selections more than just gulf oysters at other restaurants. The food... here is always solid and if you are searching for a seafood restaurant this is the place to go. They have excellent spirits aswell. Come if you are craving fish or other seafood and you won't walk away disappointed. Read more

This place was super busy last time I was here, so I decided to come early. I went with the Fried Fish & Shrimp Platter. I... expected it to be a smaller serving, so I was not surprised when it came out. ($21) I will say, however, that it was verydelicious. The shrimp were a good size, lightly battered, and very tasty. Especially with the great shrimp sauce. The fish wasfull, perfectly cooked, and excellent: moist, a little heavier breading, and satisfying. I washed it all down with some freshsqueezed lemonade. The staff was friendly, quick, & professional, and the ambiance was great. Give it a try. Read more

Went to this venue on a Friday for lunch with a group, we had reservations and were seated promptly. Parking is adequate and the... restaurant is clean, well lit, and very pleasant. We received good service. They take pride in their wide variety of freshseafood, their oysters in particular. We were very pleased with the quality and portions we received. The gumbo was spicy andhearty, the "lunch menu" shrimp enchiladas were delicious, the lobster roll was a generous portion and very tasty, the crabsalad was delicious, and the po boy too. The ceviche is excellent, and a full bar is available for adult beverages. Prices arereasonable for the food quality and setting. I plan to be back... Read more

One of the finest dining experiences for fresh seafood in the area without the stuffy need to dress up or valet your car. Their... menu is fairly limited but everything is exquisitely prepared and beautifully plated before serving. The entire staff is polite, knowledgeable and professional in their individual roles. The food is downright delicious. If you love seafood and/or craftcocktails then you owe yourself a trip to Salt Traders. You'll likely become a returning customer. ???????? Read more

Oysters were indeed fresh and great for the price! I think they're the best I've tried in Austin so far. Comparable to NYC HH... oysters but prices slightly steeper and not $1/ea. This is likely due to Texas being a land locked state. Surprisingly, thegrilled oysters were also flavorful and delicious. I'm usually a raw oyster kinda gal and even these were scrumptious! Alsoordered a lobster roll, scallop entree, gumbo soup, and dessert. They were alright. The oysters were the star of the show. Read more

Really enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. So glad we made a reservation since it was a very busy night. Their... fish and chips are very good. I was also impressed with the pot sticker appetizer which my son devoured. It is kid friendly andthey give kids gold fish and crayon and paper to color. Great service. Everyone so attentive. If I come back to this area, Iwould definitely go back. Read more

I was able to get a table right away despite being peak hours for the restaurant. The restaurant has a very lovely atmosphere. I... came to this restaurant about a year ago and it hasn't changed much, the food and one are still great and depending on where youwere seated you might get an overhead view of the town. The white wine was great, it is a Spanish wine I recommend you try aglass. If I would salmon was also very delectable, the gumbo was very good; try a cup. For next time I should try their oystersand see how those measure up. Read more

So I wanted to take my wife for crab legs last night and Google brought up Salt Trader's. It wasn't too far from the house so we... went for it. The ambience was nice and had a laid back atmosphere. When we received the menu my wife and I were sort of lost. However, our hostess explained the menu and options available. We started off with 2 bowls of Gumbo and Fried Calamari (bothwere tasty). Then we order some Fried oyster lettuce wraps (didn't too much care for those). I also ordered the Mac n Cheesewith crab not too bad (wish I had hot sauce though lol). The last thing that was wonderful about Salt Traders was the hot towelthey give you before you leave to wipe your hands, my wife and I haven't been to any establishment with that feature before. Ifyou are looking for a chill place to take someone for the first time not a bad establishment to take them to. If you don't havea clue what to order like myself, stay safe and stick to the appetizers. Read more
