I have dined in several times and I must say they make spectacular pizza. More recently something caught my eye. The dishes and... silverware were remarkably clean. Often restaurants will have clean dishes but Pizzeria Lucca hits it out of the ballpark. Went there for a birthday and this is how it went. We went inside and had a cake in our hand and one of the people said very... rudely ?We don?t allow cakes inside? we immediately took it back to the car. The first impression didn?t impress us, we orderour pizza and it came out reasonably quickly. The pizza was great oven pizza, with a lot of good toppings on it. Goodenvironment. I?m somebody who has enjoyed every kind of pizza, every style, everywhere. From pizzerias where you have to stand in lineuntil they open, to big commercial delivery should it fit the occasion. I?m from Detroit (bomb pizza), lived in Chicago, and atemy way through New York, Boston, LA, the Bay and Atlanta. This is the best Neapolitan I have had. Pizzeria Luca is amasterpiece. The environment is welcoming and the menu simple. The simple menu allows for them to use high quality ingredientsyou will not find in the average, or even above average, shops. The sauce is rich and fresh. The cheese is sharp and delicate.The crust is absolute perfection. If you enjoy dipping your pizza in garlic butter or ranch, this is not for you. That?s a hotand ready. But if you love and appreciate excellent cooking and a mastery of a dish, and if you love pizza, Pizzeria Lucadelivers on quality and flavor that?s hard to find without going abroad. Excellent pizza - nice people - would definitely recommend takeout vs dining in. I had a colleague recommend this place and he... called it the best pizza in the area. I haven?t had tried all the area pizza places but I?m guessing he?s probably right. It?s abrick oven, quick cook, thin crust pizza with fresh and excellent ingredients - it was superb. I would consider this more of agrab-n-go with indoor and outdoor seating vs a true restaurant experience. You order at the counter and all the drinks come incans/bottles that you take to your seat. They provide plates and then you grab your own silverware and ?napkins? are on a rollat the table. None of this is bad - just setting expectations. The pizza was very expensive. I think we ordered a $17 cheesepizza and put $16 worth of toppings on it. That?s an expensive 16? pizza because all the toppings are in the $3 - $4 range. I loved the WHOLE PLACE!! When you walk in they greet you with such a smile and the PIZZA is off the CHAIN!! The patio is so... big and the atmosphere is nice. Very friendly and the owner is Awesome. We have visited this restaurant in evening on a weekday. They have counter at front where you can order as you enter, server... would serve you the order later. Pizza was great along with salad. My toddler loved the greek salad they have. Although we haveasked for garlic as topping which they confirmed but it was just a garlic oil. As soon I reached out to them, they have givengarlic dipped in oil. Taste was good & toppings were generous. I would recommend this for my to go pizza place. Read more
We've been enjoying Pizzeria Lucca for years and it's so disheartening to see the negative reviews people leave because of they... way the establishment chooses to handle misbehaving children. I have personally witnessed on numerous occasions that somefamilies will come to dine in on busy nights, but let their children run wild and unattended. It's quite disruptive to otherpeople and their families and I truly appreciate Lucca's efforts to control the environment to make it an enjoyable experiencefor everyone else. I've never seen their staff or owners be outright rude to any children or their parents, but they areassertive in their stance. They even have "House Rules" posted above the cashier station and on their website that specificallymention that children are not permitted to run around the restaurant or play tag, among other things. They do have a largespace in the back, with outside seating where children can play and run around, but please be mindful that this isn't aChuck-E-Cheese type of pizza restaurant! It can be very busy in there on Friday and Saturday nights - staff moving aroundconstantly delivering hot pizzas, sauces and meatballs to the tables and picking up dishes, utensils and glass bottles to cleanthe tables. I've seen where a staff member has almost tripped over a child, playing around in the dining room or has had toyell "Excuse me!" very loudly, several times because the kids don't listen and the parents don't care. It would be a realshame to see one of these children get hurt because their parents don't pay attention to them. Pizzeria Lucca has always hadexceptional service to match their exceptional pizza. This is why they're our favorite go-to for pizza. Not only do they careabout the product they are delivering, but they care about their customers having an enjoyable dining experience.
