Tempted by high reviews and a desire for Jamaican jerk seasoning I headed down to Roslindale to try out this well loved... establishment and I was not disappointed. The food was very spicy and flavorful, and even now after just having had it only afew hours ago I feel a desire to dig into my fridge for a few more bites of the Jerk Chicken. I recommend the Bammy which is adelicious deep fried Yucca and the Jamaican ginger beer which was nice and strong. Help support this wonderful local businesswhich is so clearly run by hard working and charming people so that they can buy themselves a big air conditioner for when theyare serving up flaming hot Jamaican food all summer long! I and my wife tried this place after seeing great reviews and we drove from Brookline just for this. This place is really... extraordinary, nice cute little restaurant. We purchased the goat curry and jerk pork, it was extremely fabulous. The meat wascooked to perfection and sauce with rice and beans taste was so good and great spice level. Their customer service was excellentand the lady was so kind and friendly. She welcomed us after hearing we are first time customers. The passion mango fruit juicewas so good that we finished in the car before we started driving. Will definitely visit again and will refer this place to ourfriends. Read more
Really good quality! We got the jerk chicken (which was very spicy) and the curry goat, both of which were top notch. There's a... clear commitment to quality food here, to the point that the chef brought us out an extra order of fried plantains because he"didn't like how the first batch looked" and thought he should try and do better. To be clear, the first batch was very goodalready, but the second was really excellent. Good portions too, more than enough for an extra meal the next day. My onlycritique would be that it was a little light on the veggies. Overall, we highly recommend coming here. Read more
This is the only place I get and recommend for Jamaican food in the Boston area. The spices are killer, the meat is tender, and... the service is always incredible. Try their juices, they are fresh and just what you need to wash down the food. Recommend thejerk chicken, oxtail, and curry shrimp. Read more
My boyfriend always tells me about this Jamaican restaurant he goes to and we finally decided to go together. We were greeted... with great hospitality by a woman whom we believe is the owner. She a asked if it was our first time here and my boyfriend saidit?s hers and she was so happy to hear he brought someone. She talked about how she wants her customers to give honest reviewsof her food and restaurant and I appreciated that. When she was done ringing us up she gave me a free papaya and mango juice(which she didn?t have to do!). Amazing Jamaican food. The oxtail had meat just melting out of the bone and the spicy curry shrimp had excellent seasoning and... the right amount of kick. Rice and sides were cooked to perfection. And the juices were super flavorful (we tried the gingerpineapple which was on point). The food was excellent because it was literally homemade Jamaican cuisine...but what struck methe *most* was the service I received from the owner who took our order , that lady was one of the nicest people around forsure. Delicious curry goat!!! Perfect amount of spice, meat is cooked perfectly tender. The portion was big, I can eat it for two... meals. And great customer service, they gave me complementary drinks for first time customer. 100% recommended if you like agood curry. Read more
