To be fair I did come in 10 minutes before close but this is my experience. Friendly staff and clean place. Brisket was lukewarm... but excellent anyways. I?m sure it?s better earlier in the day. Mac and cheese was dry, cold, and didn?t have any flavor by theway. I still ate it all and left no crumbs???? Excellent service and some good eats! My favs were the hush puppies, they had a great crust and flavor, and my mojito. Would be... a 5/5 experience except the jackfruit was one note and some of the sauces were underwhelming; I had to debate my companion ifthe vodka chile bbq was ketchup. I was not very impressed but it was a decent meal. The cook who greeted me at the door was very kind and friendly. She also had... some good suggestions on what to eat. The chicken came in a nice portion, hot/ juicy/ crunchy/ and spicy. The mac and cheese wasok, but was served to me lukewarm so it kind of threw off the taste. The place needs FRENCH FRIES please add it to the menu. Isat at the bar to eat, and the bartender didn?t talk to me at all, he did get me a drink and that?s it. A group of white womensat down and he engaged with them immediately and continued the conversation the whole time I was eating there. So that, the Macand cheese and not having French fries is the reason for 3 stars. Read more
It was alright. I got the brisket which was a little tough, not much smoke flavor and the outer part of the brisket actually... tastes burnt and not like a normal smokey bark. The sides I got were slaw and collard greens and both were good. The peopleworking are cool and nice to talk to. Overall, the experience was good! I didn't love my food but it wasn't bad at all! Grabbed BBQ from the to-go window here, took it to a near by park for a picnic and loved it! I had the brisket and wings. The... dry rub wings were crispy yet tender and the flavor was outstanding. The brisket perfectly smoked. My wife tried the Jackalope,and she'll be coming back! Really great BBQ choice for a vegetarian:) Best of all the service was so nice and the portion sizewasn't skimpy. The pulled pork and brisket were dolled if you add sauce to any of this dishes, they will taste better yet still not the best.... The wings are worth to try, great balance between sweet and savory. The Cole slaw and macaroni and cheese lacked flavor. I mightcome back only for the wings. Read more
