Reviews for Goose Watch Winery in Romulus, NY
Lovely location. Don?t arrive near closing time. Wow. Lack of welcome and rush to close (with warnings of minutes remaining).... And the wines are really not very good. (To be honest though, no wine will taste good when you are unhappy with how you arebeing treated.) Too late I looked at other reviews and find these are longstanding problems. This place could be so much betterwith happier people and better wines. Definitely no desire to return to the winery. I can only imagine they survive by cateringto visitors. I doubt they can have any regulars. The service at the beer bar next door was OK but the beers were nothingspecial. Read more
Nice winery with limited beer offerings for a steep price. Nice area with plenty of yellow jackets to share the outside tables... with. Read more
I have been a fan of Goosewatch wines for over 10 years. I absolutely love their Rose of Isabella and Renaissance Red. I can't... get the equivalent anywhere else. Thank you. Read more

Such a great view of the water from their deck! Preselected tasting options are a good idea but I wish I could?ve made my own.... Bartender was very busy for a Thursday but still managed to be personable and friendly! Read more
Wine with a great view! I love how the brewery opened up so it makes it much more fun for brew lovers too. The wine selection... is good. Not a big fan of their reds but the whites are good. Great place for a tasting. Read more
I visited in late October 2017 for the Chestnut Festival. I expected the Chestnut Festival to be much larger and festive, but it... wasn't. They had 2 long tables - one to sell wine and chestnuts, and the other was chestnut made dishes - a pumpkin chestnutcake/bread, and chestnut artichoke dip and a chestnut soup. All were pretty good, but because chestnuts have a very light mildflavor, I couldn't taste the chestnuts in any of the 3 dishes. They also had roasted chestnuts, which they microwaved and thenroasted over a flying pan on a grill. The chestnuts weren't fully roasted, and they tasted raw. The lady roasting the chestnutshad never had chestnuts and didn't know what it was supposed to taste like. I purchased a bag of chestnut, and boiled it at home- out of laziness, and and they were very good. Back to the winery, the property is huge with tables and large grassy areaaround a pond to picnic or relax over a bottle/glass of wine. Because of the festival or maybe it was always busy, I'm not sure, inside the winery was packed. The wine tasting counter was packed, and a long line at the register to purchase wine andmerchandise. While waiting in line, I noticed they have hard cider which was not advertised on their website, or I might havemissed it. I picked up a few bottle of wines for gifts, and bottles of port wine, Two to Mango, and a case of graph juice. TheTwo to Mango is very sweet and it is delicious. The graph juice was good, but I like the grape juice at the Wagner Winery andBrewery much better. Wagner is about 17 miles South of Goose Watch. I didn't have all the bottles and case of graph juice withme when I was in line. It was impossible for me to collect them all by myself with 2 little dogs. The lady at the registercouldn't help me until I collected all the bottles. Fortunately, another lady working there helped me collected what I wanted, and I had to remind the cashier that I am ready to check out after she helped several more people while Read more
First Google was incorrect on the enterence coming from the top of the hill. Be warned you may have to go past where it tells... you. Once you arrive though, it's a beautiful joint. Recommend the sweet whites, very clean but I enjoyed everything we tried.Lots of room, deck is awesome. Read more
