Needed dinner after stopping for the night and stumbled upon this gem. Chips and two dip choices on the table within minutes.... Service was prompt and the food was delicious. Daringly tried something brand new to me, a fried stuffed with shrimp avocadowhich was a little bland, but with an addition of a little sauce, turned out perfect. The tortilla soup was heavenly. Hubby hada shrimp chimi which was huge and tasty and the refried beans were very good. I truly recommend this place. Read more

Visited for the first time since The Pandemic. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is well maintained and... clean. My FIL had the Beef Barbacoa with charro beans and enjoyed the meal very much. My wife had the El Rey combo withrefried beans and extra tortillas. The beef fajita was soooo delicious, the meat cooked to perfection and the rest wasexcellent. I had the Shrimp Avocado with beef enchilada and tortilla soup. The flavor of the avocado was good, but there couldbe more shrimp in the dish imo. The beef enchilada and tortilla soup were as expected. The chips and salsa brought to us wasdelicious, especially the creamy jalapeno. They have a good variety of beer to choose from and the food was reasonably priced. Read more

Omg. This is a small, amazing Authentic Mexican Food Restaurant. It is the best I have found so far in Rockdale. The green sauce... is magical, creaminess! Service was great! Read more

My work colleagues and I stopped by Coronas in Rockdale while on a field assignment. The food was freash and tasty. The chips... were warm and the salsa was just right. If I lived in the Rockdale area this place would a weekly visit for me. I will certainlyput it high on the list if I'm in the area again. I had the chicken fajita taco salad. Get ready to eat. Just cruising through and got hungry on our way home. Good Mexican food that far from the border is a rarity, but thought we... would give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The feel of the restaurant from the colors to the furniture anddecorations was very authentic Mexican! The salsa was better than 99% of the restaurants within an hour of the border. Justdelicious. The Coronas enchiladas were what I ordered and they were all fantastic. Check this place out if you happen to bedriving through and want good Mexican food. I gave 5 stars because even though the service from the first waiter was a littleslow, another waiter noticed the lack of service and stepped right in to help us. How great is that! Read more

First off the food was good. The service was understaffed, & unorganized. Host tried to seat people out of order. Queso... arrived, but took 10 more minutes to get chips. The waitress had to many tables to handle. Enchiladas were good especiallyliked the pablano sauce. The barbacoa tacos were excellent. Staff was friendly, & I will try it again, hopefully they can hiremore help. The meals & queso for $32, so it is affordable. Finally I had to tell the cashier what I had eaten in order tofinally check out, 1 cashier, & ticket seemed to be lost. Cashier needs to be able to stay at their register. Read more
