Every part of my experience was fantastic here. I sat at the bar so had the pleasure of chatting with the best bartenders. Go to Vern's. Just go. The staff is amazing, the cocktails are some of the best we've had and the food - delicious. The hostess... was kind and accommodating, she took our name as we waited for the other two in our party (they only seat you when your wholeparty arrives as an fyi, totally understandable!) She got us seated right away and was a warm, welcoming beacon of light! Ourwaitress was a gem, she was hilarious, clever, attentive and charming! The bartenders are so talented! My fiance asked for a"wing it" drink with Gin, floral and citrus - the Jasmine they made was DELICIOUS, well balanced and stunning! We ordered thepasta special, a few pizzas,the tomato pie and garlic. All was well cooked and delicious! The pasta special was especiallytasty! The food and drinks here are delicious!! Also a very cute atmosphere inside. They don't take reservations so I would try to... arrive earlier on weekends to avoid waiting for a table. They also won't seat you unless all members of your party arethere. My group did ask if we could be seated in a different location instead of where we were seated and they did notaccommodate the request even with another table available. Read more
TLDR: Go eat At Vern's. Also, grab a few drinks at Vern's. Don't skip desert. You won't regret it. This place has been on my... list for a while. I think it was the only member of the Swan family of restaurants I didn't make it to until today. Right offthe bat, we were greeted by an extremely friendly hostess who offered us a table. We chose to sit at the bar instead. Thebartender Jordan immediately took notice and came right over even though most of the seats at the bar were full of patrons. Hewas extremely friendly and a very knowledgeable about all the drinks and food, which was helpful as it was our first time. Themenu consisted of a few specialty entrees, pizzas, sharing plates and desserts. The selection wasn't overly extensive, but eachitem was so unique that I could recommend this place to any picky eater and they'd find something to please their palate. Weordered the Broken Burrata; a creamy cheesy salad of sorts tossed with citrus fruit sections , some kind of deliciousvinaigrette, greens, and savory granola. Freaking delicious. Our second dish was the orange pizza. Don't let the name fool you.No citrus on this one. It was some kind of curry cream-based sauce topped with red onion and chilies. Mind blowingly amazing.These are thin Neapolitan style pizzas with a good amount of char on the crust. Tons of flavor. For dessert, we went for thepassion fruit ginger panna cotta, and a white cake topped with a sort of pomegranate preserve. Perfect balance of creamy, sweetand tart with the panna cotta. The sponge of the white cake was perfectly moist and was a great accompaniment to the tartjaminess of the pomegranate. We also ordered four different cocktails between the two of us. Great atmosphere, and even better food and drinks. The menu changes frequently, though there seem to be some perennial favorites... that have been on the menu each time I’ve visited (like the tomato pie and lost meatball ragù).
