I cannot say enough good things about Carmen?s. I?d give them a thousand stars if I could. The empanadillas are phenomenal, but... the real shining star here is their desserts. I loved the flan, but the bread pudding blew my mind. It?s delicious. All theemployees are very kind and thoughtful, and just a joy to interact with. Carmen?s Cooking is a really good restaurant. The host Carmen and Andy are super kind and thoughtful people, and every single... experience becomes special! I had Mini Meal which has rice and beans (sooooo good, you can buy rice portion separately to takehome as well!) and shiitake mix! This was vegan meal. This is a fantastic spot to eat. The hosts, Carmen and Andy, are a wonderfully welcoming couple and make it a point to get to... know their customers. The menu is unique, especially in the area, and always so tasty. They even have a few vegan options. Onthe regular menu, my personal favorite is the C-cubed sandwich- try it ASAP! AMAZING!! My fiancé has been raving about this place and today I finally got to try it and 10/10! From the moment you enter,... everything is so clean and Andy is so welcoming. We ordered two things off the menu but honestly everything looked amazing. Porkis not my usual go-to but WOW this pork was incredible. Carmen is a legend, you can tell she cooks with her heart! She was sosweet and the whole experience is just what I needed to welcome me to Rochester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO FOR YOURSELF! You willnot be disappointed! I ate lunch here today, and it was amazing. Literally one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Although I should specify it... is a pressed sandwich. I got this sandwich with shredded beef that had been cooked in some kind of almost sweet sauce, and thesandwich also has onions, tomato, and spinach. But the bread was perfect. It was thin and crunchy, like it should be, withoutever being dry or too crumbly. Excellent flavor. And the side dish I got was shredded fried plantains. I've eaten so many friedplantains, but never shredded. And more should be, because these were perfectly crunchy, almost like a shoestring potato. So good! Although we ordered takeout, I would eat in next time. Clean restaurant and smells so good from the cooking. Tangy,... tasty mac salad. Crispy, tasty empanadillas. A very filling, delicious sandwich with crispy grilled onions and shaved pork andsteak inside. No room in my tummy for the desserts that looked great.
