Reviews for Hot Chip Burger Bar in Rochester, MN
Hot Chip is a great stop in Rochester if you're looking for a good burger and great atmosphere. They have several local beers on... draft, use local beef (per the menu), and the vibe is good both indoors and out. We sat on the patio, which is totally covered. The free popcorn was a nice bonus! Fantastic burgers and shakes! Fun atmosphere and friendly service too. They offered complimentary popcorn. There was a lovely... outdoor patio surrounded by trees and overlooking water. This place has a lot of character and, most importantly, great food. Weloved the extensive vegan menu. Would definitely recommend making a visit! Read more
You got to do the pickle back Jameo. Great fast friendly spot that I immensely enjoyed. My God, who would think of actually... salting a burger patty. From cook to cook, thank you. Anytime I come back to Rochester I'm getting a new burger without a doubt. Read more
I absolutely love this place , I'm just blown away , our food was amazing , the staff was friendly , they got our orders out... quickly , the bathrooms are clean , we got to eat outside in this beautiful Minnesota weather , and I can honestly say I enjoyedevery bite and every sip , and I love the cultural icons all over the place. I love that they serve popcorn when you're seatedinstead of chips , I really just can't think of a better restaurant that I've even been to. Smoked creations in Ottawa Kansaswas a close second , and I love that place , but this was really firing on all cylinders. Read more
In my opinion Hot Chip has the best Burgers in town. Burger of the month " Are you looking at my mangoes Burger" was amazing!... Tuna was perfectly cooked and paired so well with mango salsa. My all time favorite is "Call me the Dude Burger" Mushrooms inthis burger are a perfect combination with aioli. I also have to mention that their pickles are to die for and we are planningon picking up a jar next time we are there!! Read more
Overrated disaster! I love me a burger and when I saw this place took over from Newt?s as Rochester?s best burger, I had to try... it. To make it fair, I ate a burger from Newt the day before for comparison. I picked a specialty burger and the single, overcooked patty was overwhelmed by the mountain of salad piled on it. The sandwich felt cold although the patty wasn?t. Myfries were hot but WAY OVER seasoned. The $17.30 I spent for this takeout was a waste. Maybe it?s a local legend but as amidwesterner from another state, I?ll never come back here. The only positive is their creativity. Awful burger experience.???????????????????? Read more
I think it was a descent burger. I liked the taste, thought it wasn?t special. We ordered two burgers with fries and chili. You... have to order and pay upfront with the tips at the entrance. I personally think the burger wasn?t as heavy as the price mightindicate. We generally order one burger and eat together but this time we finished both burger which immediately made us thinkthis wasn?t as heavy as the price said. This is not necessarily bad but again the price did not reflect that. We also felt thefries weren?t as fresh as it should be. The starter was also some popcorn which was too salty, almost burn or half done. I feltit was from the bottom of the pan ????. Maybe I should have chosen this place for lunch than dinner on a Friday night, dunno. You have to pay an extra money to dine in then another extra for tip. Then you have to do pretty much everything yourself. Wehaven?t even been offered a glass of water. A fast food joint pretty much, which again is not bad but the price did not reflectthat. I am not super sure why they ask for tip. To me tip is for serving and if I have to do everything myself then seem like afast food place, so kinda confused. In general, I wont come back here unless the price is cut to half, or I receive a reason asto why the price doesn?t match the service. Read more
The staff was helpful; the wait staff helped me navigate the electronic order menu. The food arrived quickly and was hot. It... is a pricey place. I spent $22 for a gluten free bun, burger, fries, and tea. But, the food was really good. Read more
