Reviews for George's Coney Island & Family Restaurant in Rochester, MI

I had come in a few times with family and friends because of the great reviews I was hearing from friends. Whenever I would come... into George's Coney Island for the first couple of times, the food and staff was always amazing. However, lately the food hasbeen the worst. In my 3 recent visits, I had found strands of hair in my food as well as finding foreign objects in my water.Normally I would rate a restaurant 1 star for this reason. But George's Coney Island has a great staff and I hope they fix thisproblem for future customers. I won't be back for a long time. Read more

Never came a refilled our drinks food was disgusting. Fries tasted freezer burned. Didn't bring are whole order had to ask for.... Will never eat here again very upset. This was our first time eating here very disappointed. If I could put Zero stars i wouldhorrible service. Read more

Tried tonight for the first time and probably won?t be back At 6:30 pm the place was almost empty, there were only 3 tables... including us. We ordered a breakfast and a hot turkey sandwich. The breakfast was mediocre with no flavor at all and extremelyoverpriced for 2 eggs, bacon, and hash browns in a bowl. The hot turkey sandwich was disgusting. Slimy turkey, hardly anygravy, luke warm turkey, chunky mashed potatoes, and really gross green beans with some kind of red sweet sauce on them. Theplate was super sloppy with food all over the edges too. Our waitress disappeared and we couldn?t ask for drink refills orsomething else to eat. Neither person in our party really ate more than a few bites. The next time we saw her was to put ourbill on the table and she just walked away. We were sitting right next to the counter so we know we were seen. Almost $30 fortwo inedible meals is ridiculous. Then the second server up at the register looked at us and just stood behind the countertalking to the cook about her rolled ankle and bar trips when at school (I?m assuming college) for almost 5 minutes before weasked if we could pay so we weren?t late for our movie. My family and I have been going here for years. Their Greek salad dressing is incredible. Seriously. It?s so so so good. A... chicken Greek salad with a pita is the move. A gyro is also a respectable move. But honestly, it?s a great, classic ConeyIsland. Read more

Great little corner diner. I've eaten here a few times and the service has always been quick. A great place to stop in if your... time is limited. Portions are nice sized as well. Obviously it's not fancy, it's a diner, it's not supposed to be, but it isclean and friendly. If your just looking for a nice meal at a reasonable price you pretty much cant go wrong here. Read more
