My husband and I went here for breakfast and were disappointed. We we're told to sit wherever we wanted and we had a hard time... finding a clean table. My husband ordered the breakfast special with the eggs over hard. The eggs were still runny, so wereturned them and they redid the order. The portions were pretty small for the price. This was enough food for me but not for myhusband. I ordered an omelette and it was good. This is not the Big Boy of years ago. We most likely will not be back. Read more
Service was excellent. Atmosphere was good except the heater kicked on and it was 74 degrees in there even though the... temperature was set @74?. It was to hot to eat for awhile. We got the soup and salad which was good but they didn't have thesoups properly labeled or the 7 different salad dressing, many that looked the same. Also for the different types of cheesesthey had. First upon entry the young man handed us two menus and told us to take a seat in the back. Second our waitress was informed... twice about getting us some eating utensils. I ask for a glass of just ice to go with the coffee I ordered and got a glass ofice water.that would be three. Now the buffet was good the food hot and wonderfully fresh. No. Of late, this is not your Big Boy of yesteryear!! Used to love their food, big boy, slim Jim, brawny lad. This place was... disappointing. We must not be the only ones who think so, because at 5:30pm, there was almost NOBODY in the restaurant! Besides my friend and I. I counted 6 people total. My friend ordered chicken soup, it arrived, but it was chicken tortilla,not chicken noodle. OK. He asked for crackers-- they had none. I asked for salad with the garlic oil dressing-- they hadnone!! Come on! Why did we come to Big Boy???? We got Brawny Lads, which were decent, but they don't offer the "combo" meals like they used to with fries and salad. So for 2 burgers, one fry, one salad and one soup, we were at $30. Not goingback there!! Read more
The best Big Boy I've been to. The one in my town was terrible but I had a great time here. It felt somewhat modern, cozy, and... the staff was attentive and kind without being overbearing. My Slim Jim was fine, and our fudge cake was excellent. Mygirlfriend's chicken sandwich was abysmal but I've always expected anything that isn't a burger, slim jim, or waffles will bethat way. I received bad customer service but I don't understand why. It wasn't crowded and it was just me. A short female server with... glasses and hair in a bun. I left a .25 tip bc she didn't check on me once. There's a male server with glasses who's great. Butyesterday my server sucked. It was weird and disappointing. I wanted hash browns with my meal. I said it 2x. She said I shouldget the "Slam." She brought my meal without the hash browns and tells me it's not part of the "Slam." She asked if I stillwanted them. I said yes, but I wanted them with my meal. I thought they would follow shortly. Someone else brings them out...20minutes after I started eating!! So I said "no thank you." I was 90% finished! She never apologized. She walked by, didn't askhow my meal was. Instead, she stuck check on the side of my face from the back of my head, stating "I took the hash browns offthe check." No apologies. No thank you. I over tipped (twenty five cents). I'm planning to call to understand if I did somethingwrong to cause server to be so bad.
