This place reminds me so much of the little diners I went to as a child. Always love trying the smaller places out - non chain... establishments. They seem to be so cozy & everyone eventually knows everyone from staff to repeat customers. So glad wediscovered it over 8 years ago. Have never been disappointed from the hamburgers with cheddar cheese, great fried fish sandwichor a dinner entree. The fried mushrooms are the best. The baked beans have a little bite to them & are just right. Everything isalways fresh & hot. Everyone has always been pleasant & polite. Very attentive & on top of everything. I've yet to see anegative face in this place. Always smiling. I recommend GR's 1000000 % + across the board. Now if they just served breakfast Iknow it would be amazing ! (Heard they did years ago??) The Goo-Roo burger is the 2nd best burger I've had. This place is small in seating capacity but if you get a seat order anything... on the menu it'll be good. Been here many times and it's great. Read more
Just had to come here and say I have ate here more then a dozen times with my family and I have never been disappointed!... Friendly service, fast, excellent food every time! I love that it is more like a family atmosphere and very welcoming as soon asyou walk into the door even at rush hours. *by the way I read some prior reviews and as a former waitress and cook and also thefact I have sat in this parking lot to smoke a cigarette another person complained that the staff mix the tea in a bucket outback by the dumpster ??????????????? that is not true. They dump the old tea in a bucket known as a catch all bucket till theend of the night where they dispose of it and then clean the bucket out for next day. That way people are not walking on allthat that liquid and stuff throughout the day and it prevents slips and falls. Common sense. ??????????? My family will continueto go back! Love this place. Very friendly staff. Food was ok. Hamburger was undercooked and grilled chicken had too much black pepper. But watching them mix... the tea in a 5 gallon bucket by the dumpster and fill it with the waterhose was not appetizing at all. Will not go back Read more
Good comfort food. I had the chicken fried steak and white gravy, baked potato salad, and turnip greens. I was pleasantly... surprised with the greens. It's hard to get good greens in a restaurant. Katie was our server and she was an absolute doll! Shewas kind and paid just the right amount of attention to our table. She was polite and VERY sweet to my little boy. Found this place after visiting Alligator Alley and so glad we did!! This is a hidden gem!! We had a party of 11 (7 adults and 4... kids) and were sat immediately. Our server was very friendly and patient with all of us! The blackened shrimp and fish withturnip greens was so delicious!! ???? My husband ordered the country fried steak and gave it a two thumbs up!! ???????? TexasBLT is also a must have!! Definitely will be back next time we're in AL. Read more
We stopped by this place on our way back from a fall festival. They seated us promptly, took our drink orders and provided... menus. The wait staff were helpful, courteous, chipper and eager to please. Between the 4 of us, we tried a bit of everything. I had the Patty Melt and tots.. The burger was cooked (medium) as I had requested, was slathered with onions, and the breadwas toasted to perfection.. We all quite enjoyed our meals and will definitively be back!! Read more
