I don\'t normally post bad reviews but I will not be going back. I\'m new to the area and this place was recommended but the... service was terrible and the food was cooked poorly. I ordered chicken and waffles. The waffles were fine but the chicken wasgreasy on the outside and the meat was really tough and was hard to pull apart. I tried The Hatch for the first time this evening. As a Roanoke native who\'s traveled all over, in and out of the country, and... always said I\'ve like just about anywhere but here, I felt the need to come review this place, because that\'s how we keep goodthings around, and how we hopefully bring even more great places in the future.\n\nAnyways, a lot of people have had chicken andwaffles, and most of us have had breakfast out, but I was pretty taken aback by how good the sandwich I had tonight was. Itseemed like everything was very fresh and made to order. I got the Fried Chicken and Waffles sandwich (Chicken Waffle Sammy) andit truly might\'ve been the best country style sandwich I\'ve ever had. The bacon and egg on the sandwich was truly what took itto another level in terms of texture and flavor profile, and the chicken breading lightly crisp with a very tender inside. Thewaffle on the outside was perfectly cooked and soft without being soggy. The syrup almost wasn\'t even necessary, but I did dipmy sandwich in it and it was just the icing on top. Perfect sandwich. The straw was gorgeous. It sounded perfect and it fit perfectly between my lips. I think that?s enough and it equalized that the... waiter forgot my drink because the straw was amazing! Read more
Disappointed with mixed opinions. My piece of chicken on my sandwich was very small compared to the size of the bun and compared... to the large/normal size piece of chicken on my friend?s sandwich. Waiter shrugged it off when I pointed it out. Sandwich wasgood when there was chicken in a bite, but most bites were just bun. Not sure it was good enough to risk another disappointmentfor what you pay. Read more

Loved it and if there were 10 stars I would choose that! Dinner last night was delightful. Great service from Kendrick (not... Lamar, LOL). The California sandwich and the Hatch Charcuterie plate are not to be missed. Excellent spirits selection, too!We will absolutely return! Read more
