Love this little ice cream place, and I really hope it continues to do well! I?ve noticed a dip in quality with the new... management. I?ll definitely be back since I?m sure it takes a lot to start! But I miss the old grilled cheeses. Last couple oftimes, our sandwiches were undercooked and mostly bread. And every time we get a cone, the cone is broken and the scoop fallsoff :/ I?m good with a cup for now! Read more
This is the best little gem in Roanoke! From ice cream to fruit drinks with sherbet and milkshakes. Not too mention they have... some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in Roanoke with so many different kinds that is hard to choose. They don't have meaton any of them but each one has it's own special name and it fits the sandwich. They even have a grilled peanut butter andbanana sandwich which has quickly become my personal favorite. There are old fashioned soda drinks (just like from the 50's sodafountains) with a huge variety of flavors. They have these fresh fruit drinks that are out of this world. Of course there arethe smoothies that exist most everywhere but they have additional ones that I've never seen anywhere else. My personal favoriteis the orange drink with sherbet. It's got fresh squeezed oranges, over ice or ice cream and they are so tasty and fill offlavor, mine was gone in less than ten minutes, and even though I got a heck of a brain freeze, I thoroughly enjoyed every sipand was sad when I reached the bottom. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a love of ice cream, soda pop, and/orgrilled cheese sandwiches! Read more
There's plenty of nice ice cream places in the Roanoke valley, however this is the BEST of the BEST. Taste, menu, service,... atmosphere: these are all excellent. Of course they have wonderful ice cream but I would also recommend trying a flavored sodaor one of their daily desserts. They also make awesome grilled cheese sandwiches! My wife and I ate here during our anniversary trip and it was a very memorable experience. Their grilled cheese is unparalleled... in quality and the milkshake options are off the charts as well. The atmosphere is cheerful and the service is prompt andfriendly. We look forward to stopping by again the next time we're visiting the area. I only wish I could give more than fivestars. ???? I live 5 hours away, and going to Pop's has been a pilgrimage I gladly undertake several times a year since 2015 because the... sandwiches are out of this world and I have never had a bad experience with either food or service. I visited for the firsttime since ownership changed, and i am gutted. The sandwiches were a shadow of their former selves. My bag was so light Ithought I must have gotten the wrong items, but it appears the new standard is just skimpy on ingredients, and ingredients oflower quality. There were so few onions and figs on the sandwich, the (barely toasted) bread was the most prominent flavor. Thepopcorn seasoning was thick and chalky in my mouth. I guess they've phased out the sandwich garnishes as well, because theolives and maraschino cherries we looked forward to were also gone. I understand costs have risen but I'd rather pay more for agood sandwich I love than waste my money on a terrible one I don't even want to eat ???? Disappointed is an understatement. Iam heartbroken. This was one of my favorite restaurants on this earth, and for the first time in 7 years I had to look up otherrestaurants in Roanoke so I could eat during my stay. ???????????? Read more
