Hands down the BEST Popeyes I have had. The owner specifically made hot fresh chicken sandwiches for me and my friends, after... learning that we had been traveling for 4 hours. He also gave us complimentary Mac and Cheese and drinks. The owner was thereason we had such a good encounter. Otherwise, most fast food places are come and go with little customer service. About a week ago, I was coming down from the northern Virginia area and this Popeyes was the first place that caught my eye. I... was STARVING! As soon as I walked in, the owner greeted me graciously and proceeded to take my order. The food itself was veryfresh and hot, and the sides were also fresh with good portions. They even gave us extra fried chicken! While I was eating, the manager and the owner both came to see how I liked the food and if there was anything else I needed. The manager, Antoine, really delivered on his catering promise for an important event this weekend. I knew I wanted fried... chicken as part of a Southern Summer Supper for a milestone birthday, but needed at 100 pieces, fresh, and on time. Antoine tookpersonal responsibility and had everything ready for pick up, freshly made, with 60 biscuits and pans of coleslaw. Everythingwas perfect and delicious, and enjoyed by all. Our Thanksgiving tradition is to go hiking and since we went to Mcafee Knob and this was close by after, it was our Thanksgiving... dinner. We got two spicy chicken combos, one with Cajun fries and one with mac and cheese. We also had a coupon for a free twopiece and biscuit and then we got a pumpkin cream cheese pie for dessert. The service was really bad. They messed up taking ourorder and said they would fix it when they gave us our food. When they brought us our food they left off the fries and one ofthe sandwiches. After they fixed that, I confirmed that both were spicy chicken sandwiches and were told they were. We got backto our table and opened up the sandwiches. We didn't see any of the spicy sauce. We compared it to our friends and realized theygave us classic chicken sandwiches. We went back up and got the right thing. After all of that, we finally had the right food.I was so excited to try the spicy chicken sandwich after all the hype but was so let down. The bun was hard and the chicken wassoggy. I'm pretty sure it had been sitting out all day. That was the case with the fries as well. The seasoning was good, butthey were incredibly stale. I wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese. The best part of the meal was the drum stick and biscuit thatcame with the two piece. The drum stick was crispy and juicy. The white meat was dry though. I might see if I can come backsometime when they're busier to get a fresh chicken sandwich, but other than that, I don't think I'll be returning to Popeyes.There's better fast food. Read more
