Long story short, this restaurant is a fine dining wannabe. I ordered all their menu with a bottle of wine. The total price came... out to be around 250 dollars with tax+tip. I was extremely disappointed at the flavor and the quality of the dishes, especiallywhen compared to restaurants up in New York or Chicago in that similar price range. Please save yourself some money and go forpizza or burger. Read more

Unbelievable. One of our best meals ever. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They really seem to enjoy working... there. And the food and cocktails were both adventurous and delicious. We had several different dips for the oysters and Inoticed one was based on flavors from Zimbabwe. (We have the only Zimbabwean restaurant in the US in Durham, NC, which is theonly reason I would have recognized this.) Enjoy! Read more

We've been to Lucky twice now, and have been impressed by both the products and the service. Lucky now follows a small plate... format. For two people, ordering the entire menu is suitable for a dinner. Everything we've tried has been excellent. While thesmall portions allow you to try a variety of items, plates are expensive. Expect to pay about $100 to order the menu. For us,the cocktails is where Lucky shines. We're avid fans of Sidecar, likely Roanoke's top cocktail bar. Lucky is a great alternativeto Sidecar! We enjoyed sharing several dishes including the eggplant, salad, beef tips and shrimp w/grits. The Moscow mule was the best I've... ever had. The dessert was so good we ordered seconds (the moshi w/candied nuts, white chocolate and berries...wow!). Read more

Absolutely delicious small plate restaurant, at the time of this writing offering a menu with a lot of international influences.... My partner and I split the full menu. Highlights for us were the corn ribs which was wonderfully fresh, the perfectly searedscallop, and the octopus terrine, which was probably the most adventurous dish on the menu in texture and flavor combination. Some wonderful use of high quality vegetables throughout. The only dish that either of us felt was less than steller was theShort rib, which seemed to have been delayed in the kitchen for a while. The whole menu took about two hours. I also appreciatedthe option for 3 ounce wine pours, allowing me some flexibility with my pairings. There are currently no suggested pairings onthe menu but all the wine I had was acceptably complimentary. Decor is low key and tasteful, making this a wonderful date spot, which it was for us and several other couples in view. Read more

I LOVED the old lucky restaurant, but the new, completely different lucky is not for me. I miss the previous food and ambiance.... I had very high hopes but was very disappointed. The food was okay. I agree with the other review in that it is atrociouslyoverpriced. $15 for one scallop, really? I did the tasting menu so I had everything and wasn?t in love with anything. All of itwas just okay. The drinks and service were good. Our server was knowledgeable about everything, but sadly it just wasn?t good. Iguess I?ll just come here for drinks from now on. Read more

FABULOUS! Definitely in the top 3 restaurants I have EVER eaten at. Menu changes, I think they would be considered farm to... table. Make reservations. Amazing craft drinks. Service was top notch! Read more
