Reviews for Hollywood's Restaurant & Bakery in Roanoke, VA
We stopped for lunch on our trip down to Tennessee and are very happy we did. The waitress was awesome and the staff very... friendly. The food was very good and hit the spot. Definitely worth the visit and would go back again! Read more
My family had dinner here and I cannot speak highly enough about the food, service and atmosphere. Our server Kristen was... amazing. Attentive but not overbearing; several of the staff stopped to check on us. The food was amazing. My bf told her hisoysters were a bit over fried; she offered to replace it. When he declined, it was still removed from our bill (we didn't ask!).I had a slice of carrot cake for dessert. The cream cheese icing tasted like cream cheese for a delightful change (instead ofsugar). The atmosphere is wonderful and the travel map proves they are an international sensation. Meat, seafood and vegetarianoptions. Read more
We were traveling through the area and staying overnight in Troutville. I found a tiny menu for Hollywood's in the hotel's... travel section. I like the menu choices, so we tried it. I had the 1/2 rack ribs, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Ribs fell offthe bones, potatoes were creamy. My husband had the Pimento Burger with French fries. He loved both. He ordered his baconcrispy. His only complaint would be not enough Pimento cheese on the burger. I would have tried a dessert, but they had beenvery busy all day and were sold out of many choices. Read more

Hollywood Restaurant looks like an old diner and the interior reinforces that impression. The parking area is small with some... odd sloping spots. We were greeted promptly and led to a table. The service was up to scratch and sooo friendly. Food wasdelivered in a timely manner, and plates were cleared from the table. The wine list is woefully inadequate. We ended up with abottle of something red but it wasn?t very good. The food menu, on the other hand, is a pleasant surprise with quite a varietyof options. We ordered three entrees and an appetizer and all were large portions. The Chesapeake bay fried oyster appetizer wasmostly breading wrapped around very small oysters. It was our least favorite. The shrimp and grits was delicious but reallyspicy ? which the waitress warned us about. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and they were a nice size. The Catfish Matrimonywas lightly fried served on southern grits with a creamy Cajun andouille and shrimp sauce and garnished with tomatoes and greenonions was very tasty. It came with a side of some lightly sauteed vegetables which I could have eaten more of. The coconutshrimp were also large and were right up my spouse?s alley. The accompanying french fries were very good. We were stuffed bythe end of the meal and ended up with several doggy bags. Definitely recommend giving this place a try! Read more
The hotel we were staying at recommended this local eatery and boy was it an awesome one. Nothing fancy about this restaurant... but the food and service exceeded our expectations. The menu has something for everyone and the prices were very reasonable andin fact less than I expected. It you are looking for a local restaurant with a bunch of options be sure to checkout this spot. Read more
The food here was decent and different. I ordered a salmon with cranberries and it was surprisingly good. The only thing I would... change with this restaurant is the pricing for the food. These prices are for 1 Michelin star restaurants yet I don?t think thatthey?re at that level yet. Read more
