Service was slow who has one bartender on a Saturday night when you have a band? Not very friendly either.

The genuine dive bar vibe with no real chance of actual dive bar consequences. There is nothing like a bar that is older than... the trees in the neighborhood. I have visited for a few live performances and they handle the talent well, with a great stageand viewing space for what looks to be a small building from the outside. I strongly recommend it. The Coffee Pot is a Roanoke institution! I have been to the 'Pot 100s of times over the years and I always feel welcome every... time I step through the door. They have been supporting live local music for decades and even to this day they have a bandalmost every weekend. You are not part of the Roanoke Valley scene unless you have played at The Pot! I have met friends here,jammed here and played dozens of shows on that fabled stage. As well as beverages, they have a great kitchen and a first classmenu. Reasonably priced and there is often a lunch time buffet. Parking can be a challenge at peak times though, so arriveearly. Also the main bar allows smoking so that may or may not be a problem for you. Read more
Iconic. Historic. Food is typical bar food, but still decent. Music is spotty at this point. Occasionally decent local music is... available, mostly just karaoke at this point. Beer selection is great if you like and beer... For the rest of us you'll need topre game! Read more
This is the definition of a roadside dive and I mean that in a good way! We came in late afternoon for a quick bite to eat. We... ate our food (burger, sandwiches and fries, all pretty good) as we listened to Katie talking and joking with 3 or 4 regularssitting at the bar while another woman sat playing video poker and smoking. Several obscure Led Zeppelin songs played overhead.Katie was very friendly and we had a good time talking to her. Love the coffee pot attached to the building. This would be afantastic place to come watch local bands and throw back a few beers (or jello shots)! Read more
This place sucks! 2 employees charging different cover prices. No good explanation , no offer to remedy. This fine... establishment also allows smoking inside - you will smell of cigarettes and regret for at least 2 weeks! Never again! Read more
