We were just walking downtown and found this gem. My father was Panamanian and red beans and oxtail, plantains was his favorite... and he treated my sister and I to Jamaican food when we were little as a reward for good grades/behavior. I teared up a littlewhen I tasted the red beans and rice because it reminded me so much of my father and grandmother. The food is excellent and thestaff is amazing. I highly recommend Read more

The restaurant looks good for dining in , and the customer service was good but the food is another matter . Perhaps it?s that... whomever cooked today is lacking experience because the foods I received gives ?Caribbean food? a very bad name . It was ediblebut was it good ? no not in my opinion . None of the food I bought be it the oxtail or the cake tasted anywhere close to worththe $60+ I spent . The oxtail was displeasing to the eyes and tongue , the rice and beans was drenched in something appearing tobe gravy and lacked much flavor . The cake just had the looks but an awful taste . I would not recommend this restaurant unlessyou?re certain of the qualifications of the person who will cook your food . Read more

This place was soooo Dope and Delicious!!! I was so happy to find this gem located in the downtown area! The food was so so... good, it was clean, Caribbean music playing in the background, and the service was outstanding. GOOD VIBES!!! It felt like home.I had the oxtails, rice and peas with cabbage. The meat fell off the bones. Yes I cleaned my plate. ????A must try in theRoanoke City area. I will be back. Read more

I am giving this restaurant 3 stars. The staff were amazing. However We ordered the Braised Oxtails and Curry Goat. The Oxtails... which I usually love from anywhere else but this place made it burnt it taste like the Oxtails were burnt and EXTREMELY salty. The Curry Goat was bland the meal had no hint at all of true Jamaica. I didn't even smell the food cooking no aromas and ourmeals did not have a scent. Very unusual since TRUE Jamaican food are rich in taste an scent. The fried chicken and Fish is thebest to order at this place. Which makes me wonder if any Jamaicans working there at all. 3 stars for the staff food 1 Read more

I enjoyed the culinary art of the chef at this restaurant. The peas and rice were very good my plantian was good my cabbage and... oxtails were great. One of my party members had the snapper and that was really good. They could use a little help on timing. But other than that the food was very enjoyable Read more

Wow. So good. Had the jerk chicken and my friend had the oxtails. I loved my jerk chicken but loved the oxtails more. The rice... and beans were good. The veggies needed more flavor. Staff was awesome. Everyone checked on us and you could tell there was alot of pride. Read more
