Lovely place to enjoy a nice meal. I got the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and a chicken souvlaki sandwich with fries.... Both dishes were delicious. The staff was amazing to me, they saw that i was dining solo and made my experience verycomfortable. Give this place a try if you are in the Roanoke area. You will not be disappointed. Read more
This place is a little gem. Our food was delicious, and the staff were VERY pleasant and attentive. Customer service superb.... The food was fresh, loved the tzatziki and pita. Chicken and lemon potatoes...yum. Can't forget the BAKLAVA...served warmaccompanied with whipped cream made a delectable dessert that melted in your mouth. Hubby wanted to lick the plate. ????. Theatmosphere was quaint, happy, and we could tell that the locals frequent this restaurant and love the people there. If we livedclose we'd be back. Great food and service. For such a small and café like setting, I was very impressed with the quality and taste. We tried the... pita fries, the tomato dip, the chicken souvlaki, the gyro dip sandwich, and the fish and chips. Everything had the right Greekseasonings, and the pita bread that was with the meal seemed made in house and very fresh. Our server was taking care of all theother tables as well as us, but she did a great job. One of the owners was also working, and he was incredibly friendly andtalkative. To finish our meal, we tried the triple layer chocolate cake. The crumb was a little dry, but it had good chocolateflavor, and the icing was rich but not too sweet. When we visit Roanoke again, we will definitely be back. They do change uptheir menu quite often, so I'm excited to see what they will have the next time we are there. If you're craving Mediterraneanfood, this is the place to stop. They have classic Greek dishes, but if you're not feeling as adventurous they also have classicAmerican fare too. This was out best meal of our lives. We've been all over the US and we both agree its the best restaurant we've been to yet.
It was such a wonderful experience coming here. They were attentive and helpful. Our food came out in a very reasonable time... frame. The fries were amazing. They also seem to make a lot of the food from scratch which makes it even better. I know I was hungry when we ate there but we did love what we got. It was everything a restaurant used to be. Athens is AWESOME! Great quality food, great service, unique culture and innovative dishes to try as well as a well stocked bar.... I've went here for years and live just a few streets over from it. I'll stop just to pick something up and chat with the owner,who is always there working hard himself just like his amazing wait staff. I'm convinced they secretly have Michenlen Starshidden in the back, as the Food and Staff deserve it and the Owner is humble enough to tuck them away. Must stop here! Read more
