So normally I don't write reviews, but Alexander's food and staff are always amazing. I'm a blue collar HVAC worker and always... feel welcomed when dinning there. The staff are always friendly and very accommodating and make sure you are well taking careoff. Yes, the food is on the pricey side but it is well worth it. I had the carpet bagger last night and it was absolutelydelicious and worth the price. I was full and still wanted more. So, to the people who are saying the portion sizes are small.They are actually really generous with their portion sizes. They serve average portion sizes for the average person. If you wantMcDonald's portion sizes go to McDonald's, but you will not get the quality or taste that you get here. They already use highquality ingredients that aren't cheap for them to produce high quality food for you. I would definitely recommend going toAlexander's for the food and the staff, and the feeling of leaving satisfied. Read more
The food quality and service were both quite good. The drinks were well made. So why three stars? Ridiculously small... portions. Look, I understand that high quality dining will not have a portion size or price point of a buffet. But this took itto the extreme. We ordered two appetizers ($14-16 each): shrimp, and a crab cake. Both were very good, but there were just twomedium shrimp, and the crab cake couldn't have been 3 ounces. I had a $43 lamb porterhouse (loin chop), which had a deliciousreduction sauce. But it couldn't have been more than 5 oz., accompanied by a modest amount of steamed vegetables. I buy thiscut for about $8/lb at my local grocery. The drinks were well made and presented, but far from a generous pour. Again, very wellprepared, but I left a bit hungry and with a very light wallet. Read more
Alexander’s never disappoints, ever! The filet mignon is, in my opinion, easily the best in Roanoke and always comes with in... season vegetables. Every entree also comes with a beautiful salad. My favorite place for special dinners out. Read more
One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Roanoke. Service was excellent - very knowledgeable staff, friendly, and... very on top of things. Food was delicious. We had the grouper and mixed grill and everything was seasoned and prepared verywell. The wine options were good and the cocktails were wonderful - not too strong, but definitely not weak. Would have liked tosee a better beer list, but that is a minor complaint. Would definitely recommend and we look forward to going back. Read more
Excellent meal and excellent service! Had the duck and my boyfriend had the steak with gorgonzola. Prepared very well,... vegetables cooked properly and everything perfect! Look forward to our next visit to Roanoke to come eat here! Read more
Restaurant closes at 10pm, walked in a 935pm for a quick dessert to go, because it seemed like it would have been a good late... night snack on the way up back to my room As the lady was explaining the options to me, the red headed guy (assuming themanager) quickly cut her off with, “ let me handle this, the kitchen is closed.” I passed by there numerous times sinceThursday and have yet to see the restaurant at full capacity. Shame on that guy for being such a “Richard” and turning downeasy money. Read more
