We stopped here for lunch before doing the Laurel Falls hike and it was a great dose of Tennessee BBQ and people watching. You... could tell this was a place people stop before or after being in the outdoors. The food was awesome. I got the Hot Wings andthey were fantastic - so hot crispy and juicy. The sauces were delicious too. My SO got the pulled pork platter and that wasreally good too - smokey and tender. We only waited about 10 minutes to be served. Definitely stop if you can! Read more
This place was great. Cute and clean inside. Food was outstanding, I had the wings and my husband had the pulled chicken... sandwich. They initially messed up the order, but the owner was so attentive, kept us posted, and even offered dessert on thehouse because of it. 10/10 would recommend if in the area. Read more

Excellent Local restaurant in a small town. We sampled lots of items on the menu. The hush puppies were perfect, the BBQ Chicken... and pork sandwiches were delish and all of the sides were cooked to perfection. Will definitely return if we are ever in thearea again. Read more

Oh my... I may be a business Like Burger connoisseur of sorts But this Angus beef cheeseburger on a heavy toasted FRESH bun blew... my everloving carnivore mind! ???? If I lived in the area... this would be my spot _ and I (as well) would have a burger namedin my honor! Food came out relatively quick. Service from hostess/cashier was exceptional (I may have received a tad little bitmore of her special attention- but it was welcomed ????) Clean establishment- friendly staff. Wings were just okay. BBQ porksandwich was ???????????????? HEAVENLY 2 say the least. Meat was tender and tasted as it was smoked to near perfectionovernight. A pig's perfect place to be plated! Great job Highlander! So I?m from Florida and I had family move up here to Johnson city just a few years ago and the first time I went up there after... a long days hike we came across this place didn?t expect much at first but after trying their pig wings I FELL IN LOVE!! Eversince every time I come up here all I ever talk about is how I have to stop at highlanders for their amazing pig wings but notonly that the staff their are the sweetest nicest people you can meet and for desert I highly recommend the blueberry cheesecakeice cream cone it?s so delicious I?m not even trying to exaggerate but everything I have eaten there has always been fresh andhot I come up here every year and I this will always be my #1 go to spot for bbq hands down thank you and your amazing staff athighlanders I look forward to seeing you guys soon again Read more
