Our experience was disappointing. First took super long to get someone to come to out table , the place was empty . Then when... finally someone came we had problem with people other table, so since the place was empty idk why did they put everyone togetherand finally when the food came was the worst food that I eat so far this year. Absolutely awful. Server was the worst I've seen in years. We asked about the Friday special "Fish Fry". She said it was... grouper, we knew that couldn't be the case so we kindly asked to confirm that, she came back "oh they changed it today, it'sCod". Clearly that sounded more accurate. Strange start, but no biggie! We then ordered the Gator Bites appetizer, it came 30minutes later, cold and soggy. We had no plates, no napkins, missing silverware sets. Main courses didn't arrive for anotherHOUR, we asked several times the status of our order, she said "oh we're busy", then she said "kitchen was backed up", we askeda 3rd time, she said "it's coming, a few tickets is ahead of yall"...A whole hour of waiting, she forgot to bring re-filleddrinks, napkins, plates after requesting several times. She never apologized about the wait for food, once food arrived, shenever checked on us again. She was completely uninterested in serving our table (and others in her section). The food finallycame, and unfortunately it was cold and soggy, after waiting an hour. ???? It was just awful. The server came by to only dropoff boxes (we didn't even ask for) and NO CHECK. We waited an additional 15 minutes for a check, it never came. So I chased downanother employee to see if she can help with the bill, she pointed me to another employee. I explained I just needed to pay,they couldn't find my ticket because they were unsure of who the table was assigned to. It was a mess. My server actually walkedby me 3 times as I was paying and she never once acknowledged me or inquired why I was paying at the counter. Only as we werewalking out she said "do you have your signed receipt?" What?!!! Now you care?? Upon reading some of the reviews we brought food with us. But we got here late to check in and it was just easier to go the the... Smokehouse Grill and I am so glad we did. The girls were fascinated with the outdoor patio seating on the water so they couldlook for alligators. The staff were all very professional and friendly. Tia our server was delightfull and informative. I hadthe brisket which was moist and flavorful. The girls had chicken strips and fries and the fries were so good we ordered more. The wait was not that long and they went out of their way to see we had everything we needed. We are looking forward to thebreakfast buffet! Read more

Grilled chicken sandwich was pretty good, but the main reason for 2 stars was bbq chicken dinner wasn?t cooked thoroughly,... pulled pork dinner was bland, water was awful (sulfur taste) and service was awful plus screened in dining area is dirty anddisgusting (someone needs to go in and clean it). Nice little smokehouse located on westgate riber ranch property. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff. We... did have to wait about 20 mins for a table on a Friday night but that was not worries to us. We all enjoyed out appetizers ofgator tail and wings while we waited for our meal! My husband and i got the ribeye which was great and the kids all enjoyedtheir kids menu items. This was our first time here and they were definitely understaffed... It's the only option other than general store to eat at. If you're staying there BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. The service is horrible.... They forget everything. It takes forever to get your food. Veggie burgers aren't supposed to be crunchy right? The ONLYreason they are in business with high prices and low service is that there are no other options there. We ate there twice lastweekend. We just returned home from our long weekend at the Ranch (3/13 - 3/15) After checking in we headed to the Smokehouse for... breakfast, our server Izzy was our first face of Westgate (outside of checking in at the Front Desk). Izzy was friendly,welcoming and went out of her way to make our morning pleasant before we started our day. Our food arrived quickly and Izzymade sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal, refilling beverages and checking in with us, it was fairly quiet, Izzywas sweet to stop and chat with us about our plans, encouraging us to take advantage of the many activities offered,highlighting things the grandchildren would enjoy etc. Although fairly new to the Ranch, she tried to answer our questionsabout this and that on the property with enthusiasm for our stay. We returned as our last stop before heading home on Mondayafternoon for lunch and were lucky to have Izzy serve us again! The older grandchild wasn't feeling well having becomeoverheated and slightly dehydrated (after being on the Swamp Buggy), Izzy quickly gathered ice, extra napkins and brought waterto help while we got settled at our table. Izzy checked with us to assure things were alright with my granddaughter, took ourorder and returned with additional ice and water to be sure she was getting hydrated and feeling better even suggesting a crispsalad would be a good choice for a cool meal that would add additional fluids to help her feel better. Our food was delicious,Izzy was attentive while also tending to other tables in an equally timely manner. Our first and last impression of River Ranchwas Izzy, she represented the Ranch and the Smokehouse extremely well!!!
