Reviews for Lil' Mike's Bar-B-Que in Rigby, ID
We decided to try out this restaurant because of the great reviews. We were very disappointed and not sure what apparently so... many other people see. The smell of the place is off-putting. All of the food items are accompanied by an asinine price tag thatis not at all characteristic of food this low in quality. Of the 4 items we purchased 3 were pretty lackluster. The mac' ncheese and coleslaw were extremely bland, the mac overcooked beyond belief. The chicken was incredibly dry and the smokey flavorseemed odd, not at all pleasant. This coming from someone who loves smoked stuff. The BBQ sauces were pretty good but what doesthat matter when what it goes on is kinda gross. The brisket was actually pretty good also, especially with the BBQ sauce. Thecustomer service is also lacking, everyone there seemed like the only thing they cared about was the fact they're getting apaycheck, totally indifferent to the customer experience they're providing. All in all, I can confidently say we will never comeback. We can go to places that serve better quality food with a smile on their face for a better price. Read more
My wife had the brisket salad and I had the brisket sandwich. Our kids shared corn muffins and smoked macaroni and cheese. The... food was awesome and the help was nice. This place has amazing barbecue and I highly recommend it even though it's a little bitout of the way if you don't live in Rigby you should still make the trip. Top notch BBQ at its best. Read more
REAL BBQ!!! Felt like I was back in the south. Worth every penny! The environment is cute and friendly Staff is really nice and... helpful. BBQ sauce is amazing. It's really busy and the parking is small. So prepare for a short wait. Read more
Best bbq I ate in USA. The brisket is tender and savory and smoky. The rib is perfectly cooked with tender and strong flavor.... The meat sauce is with thick layer of flavor. Damned good! Read more
Ribs and brisket were outstanding (a good as any we?ve had in Texas)! Sausage had nice snap to it, Turkey and pulled pork were... good as well. Enjoyed the corn salad, beans tasted like they just came out of a can? Read more
Our 6yo son LOVED their nachos, I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with the smoked Mac n cheese, and my spouse enjoyed the Big... Mike sandwich with sausage. Incredibly friendly service, great BBQ and was pleasantly surprised to see it is also a Triple Drestaurant! If ever back in the area, we?re hitting it again & again! Read more
One of the best BBQ places I have ever eaten at. I travel frequently in Texas and other places renowned for their smoked meats... and BBQ, and this is literally one of the best places I've ever eaten, if not the best. Including some places with nationalrecognition and multiple awards to their credit. The brisket here is amazing, very tender and juicy. Many briskets areoverdone and dry, this was perfect. The sausage is amazing, great flavor without being overly spicey or hot. The beans andcoleslaw were really good but we also tried their smoked Mac and Cheese on a whim. I normally don't love Mac and cheese but thiswas some of the best I've ever had. Amazing lightly smokey flavor, and very creamy and smooth. Would highly recommend thisplace, it's a real surprise to find world class BBQ tucked into this sleepy little town in Southeastern Idaho, but do yourself afavor and make the trip, you won't be sorry. Best BBQ in the USA!! Even better after a day of skiing. I've been to Texas & eaten wonderful BBQ. I'm a BBQ Pit Master myself.... I know the challenges & appreciate the time & effort that goes into world class Texas BBQ, especially Brisket. These folks atLil Mikes know Texas BBQ! Who knew world class BBQ is right here in Rigby, ID. My wife and I are going to stop by there on ourway back from Skiing Grand Targhee from now on! It's on our way home to Pocatello. Can you imagine World Class Skiing, Good Beerand the Best BBQ in the USA all in one afternoon? Rinse & Repeat. That's my kind of weekend. Every Powder Hound needs to head toLil' Mikes after hitting the slopes. Its worth the drive. But I shouldn't tell you any of this because I don't want to have tostart lining up for this BBQ at 6 AM like they do in Texas. After waiting all day, they still pay $400+ for that meal for 2-4people. Now for those who don't know, what makes good BBQ? Look for moist meat, salt and plenty of pepper, (signature TexasBBQ), good smoke flavor, a nice pink smoke ring, good sauce, tasty bark, tender meat, which means they tackled the collagenproblem and broke it down with proper low and slow cooking. There's no shortcuts here. It can only be achieved by hours of hardwork these folks are putting in. I guarantee you, they have been cooking all night so your food is ready today. That's a 14-18hour cook on that Brisket. Please keep that in mind when you are asked to pay their inexpensive prices. Frankly their pricesare extremely low for the nationally competitive, high quality of BBQ they serve. They have worked their butts off to bring youthis very special meal that is presented in family picnic style. Don't expect fine dining with fancy table cloths, waiters, candles and glasses of wine. That's not what BBQ is about. It's about family. They deserve your respect. The origins of BBQ arethe exact opposite of "fine dining." BBQ originated from humble origins, times of slavery i Read more
