We were passing through Rifle CO looking for a place to stop and have lunch. We needed a dog friendly restaurant as we were... traveling with our pup. We came across the Capitol Deli. The restaurant was small, old and a little more than worn. We were alittle hesitant but hungry and they were dog friendly. Our server was very nice and gave suggestions on the menu. We went here today on the way through Rifle. We’d been on a long drive and were very hungry and in a bit of a daze. Initially... we ordered takeout but realised we needed to eat before setting off on the rest of the journey as we had a way to go. So weasked if we could eat on their covered veranda instead. The woman serving us (sorry I didn’t get her name) was so friendly,kind and patient with us confused English folk. The food was homemade and delicious. It’s immaculate and the decor iscute. The place is straight off the main road with its own parking - so if you are passing through Rifle you absolutely muststop here! Thank you so much - we really appreciated the warm hospitality. Such a cute little spot, and the food was delicious and fast. But the best part was the young girl working. She has outstanding... customer service, which is hard to find. Pyper? I love love this place. I've tried almost everything on the menu but the Cobb salad, gyro and broasted chicken are my favorite.... Great staff and service too. Also, the cheesecake is so delicious. Read more
Our second visit (the first was during COVID) while passing through Rifle. Excellent food and friendly service. Vickie and the... team are fantastic and I am so happy they made it through the economic challenge of the Rona. If you’re in Rifle, stop and eat- you won’t be disappointed! Read more
