Reviews for Norma's Corner Shoppe in Ridgewood, NY
What a cute spot! I had a large group eating and we put our order in online. Everyone was able to get something they wanted... between the sandwiches and the pastries, and the vegan options were great too. Even though they were understandably really busyat noon on a Sunday, I think our order got out at a reasonable time. I wish I'd gotten the name of the two people who helped ustoday behind the counter. They were both so sweet and really helpful! So we had a great first experience and look forward tocoming back to try orders other reviewers recommend. Read more
Coming from the South where every restaurant sells biscuits, Normas blows all of them out of the water. - truly one of the... best BEC biscuits I?ve ever had. Latte was great. Friendly staff. Read more
Staff are friendly. However, they need more staff. Went on a Sunday morning and there was only one person in the kitchen. I... waited 10 mins for a hot chocolate and over 30 minutes for my sandwich. They over toasted my bread and I asked for lightlytoasted. Bread was hard and dark almost burned and not enjoyable. I asked for an egg to be added onto my sandwich which I wascharged for but it wasn't added. I did get a refund for it. Overall, i would definitely not come back. I went there based on thegood reviews but was disappointed Read more
My ABSOLUTE favorite spot in Ridgewood to grab a breakfast sandwich! Always made to perfection, I get the New Yorker on a... croissant. I add cream cheese and jam to my sandwich. It?s my signature. I for sure recommend trying my sandwich and you forsure must try Norma?s! I recommend placing an online order for pick up or expect to wait. They are always busy. There?s outsideseating to enjoy your meal. Their bake goods are scrumptious too! YUMMY! Read more
Great breakfast sandwiches and the biscuits are as good as they come.
Nice small and cozy bakery with good breakfast sandwiches. I ordered a New Yorker and replaced the meat with avocado. It was a... delicious vegetarian option. I also ordered the Passion Fruit juice which was good. Unfortunately, they aren?t open very late. They close at 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm, but are open daily. Read more
How adorable and cozy Norma's Corner Shoppe is. We were there randomly for a quick breakfast fix and we had Chocolate Mocha... Bundt, Raspberry Loaf and 2 cups of latte. Both cakes were amazingly delicious and satisfying. The texture was soft & puffy andthe frosting was rich & creamy. The latte was not a surprise but it's decent and refreshing. My friends told us their BiscuitSandwich is really good and we will definitely visit again to try it. Read more
Ridgewoods changing and so has Normas. I moved into the neighborhood 10 years ago and have been a long time customer here. I... miss the old days when the pastries were made in house and the sandwiches were of better quality. It used to be a real localhang out with seating and atmosphere and friendly familiar staff. The massive gentrification that has happened to theneighborhood is AWFUL. Filled with young white 20 somethings who recently transplanted from the Midwest. Something about newcomers to NY, they love to have attitude, They think that?s what it means to be a New Yorker. Anyways I went in there yesterdayfor the last time. Sandwiches have shrunk in size and quality (I hade one piece of bacon on my breakfast sandwich and the breadwas burnt). I can?t believe i paid $8 for this hockey puck of a sandwich (shrinkflation). The person working was some young gen Zand had a major attitude problem. No warmth or friendliness there anymore. Completely cold and detached. They renovated it tolook like every other trendy coffee shop. Welcome to the new dimes square. YUCK. I think the owners have very little to do withit now. Used to be a community spot. Won?t be returning and happy I recently moved out of this neighborhood- completely beingdestroyed and it?s a shame. Read more
