First time there for dinner. Fantastic! The staff is like family and love that we can drive right up in our boat. Great fun!

It's fine the new owners have decided to make The Retreat a more sumwhat "upscale" dining restaurant.. but in all honesty..... Taking away the normal seafood menu was a huge MISTAKE. Before it was a great place to take the family and enjoy great countryseafood on the lake around good wholesome people. Now because of the menu change, it's not catering to the overall public andit's reflected in customer turn out. It looks empty most of the time. People barely know it exists and that's a shame and awasted opportunity for the residents and visitors of Lake Wateree. Again the fine dining theme is nice but let's bring it onhome. Have a balance, maybe fine dining on Thursdays and Fridays. .and some good old fashioned southern fried seafood cooking onthe other days. Just a thought. Read more

Great destination. Great selection of food. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the BBQ is the best. This was our 2nd visit... because the first was so good and we just had to go back. They have outdoor seating right on the lake with a beautiful view. Itswell worth the drive. Read more

I had the grouper and didn't like it at all. The fish had no seasoning and tasted ... fishy. The incidentals were equally not... that good. Also, for the price, the portiin size was entirely too small. I sampled the steak and pork chop. Excellent. Staffwere wonderful and the restaurant was very eye appealing. Read more

This place was an incredible find. The attention to detail is on point. My steak was perfectly prepared, seasoned and... presented. The restaurant was inviting and comfortable and the service was excellent. The chef even stopped by my table after mymeal arrived to let me know that the mashed potatoes were really hot and to be careful. My waitress was so sweet and attentiveand had perfect timing.
