We visited Cherry Point Chicken & BBQ on a Wednesday mid afternoon. At that time of the day, the restaurant was not crowded and... so it was very easy to find a table either inside or outside. Upon entering the restaurant, we approached an order counter witha menu board on the wall behind it. My son ordered the daily special, a fried pork chop sandwich with pickled onions that hesaid was fantastic. I'll have to take his word for it because he did not share any of it with me. My granddaughter and wifeordered the pulled pork. I thought I had ordered pulled chicken, but I ended up receiving pulled pork instead. The serverapologized and offered to switch my order, but I declined since I like pulled pork too. The server brought a sample of pulledchicken to the table for me to try since that was what I intended to get. I liked the way that the staff at the restaurant triedto make things right for their customers even though it very well could have been me who made the mistake when ordering. Ireally liked the pulled pork. Both the pork and the chicken were pulled perfectly and seasoned with a hint of pepper. The houseBBQ sauce complimented their meats very well. As for our sides, I ordered a baked potato salad and collard greens. The potatosalad was rich and creamy and the collards were tasty with that earthy flavor that I love. Everybody else got baked beans andenjoyed them, and my wife ordered some fries that she liked as well. We also ordered some hush puppies to enjoy with our mealswhich were quite good, savory with a hint of sweetness. I definitely would like to return soon to try their fried chicken sinceI'm always looking for a good fried chicken place and, after all, chicken is in Cherry Point's name. This place should be way more crowded than it was on a Friday night! A real gem. The counter and kitchen staff are beyond... pleasant. They went above and beyond to make we as customers were satisfied. We ordered: Beer: ???? they offered a chilledpint glass! How fancy for a road side place with picnic tables. Very nice touch! Hush puppies: 5/5 OUTSTANDING! We got a secondorder because the kids woofed down the first order. They perfectly balanced blend of sweet and fried. The Alabama dipping sauceis so good that you should hold onto it to use with your fries too! Chicken sandwich: 5/5 the flavor was excellent with alittle kick and it was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend for future visits. Pulled pork: 3.8/5 Good, not great.Portion a little tiny for the price of the platter. If you didn't taste their chicken sandwich or fried chicken you might ranktheir pulled pork higher but relative to the other food we ordered we rank this as good. Fried chicken: 4.8/5! The flavor wasvery good and different than that of the chicken sandwich. One of the pieces was a little well done but overall cooked nicelyand VERY tasty. Sides: Mac n cheese: 5/5! It was GOOD! Creamy and perfect portion as a side. Had a small hint of pepper but notoverpowering. Fries: Standard. We ordered the "box" of fries and the portion was perfect for our family of 5. Coleslaw: Goodfor a vinegar based coleslaw. Nothing to rave about but as a coleslaw lover, would order again! Read more

While traveling on business, I get the opportunity to visit lots of states and cities and love having the opportunity to try new... BBQ joints around the country. On this particular day I got to visit Cherry Point Chicken and BBQ and was not disappointed.First, the customer service was wonderful. I ordered a two meat platter for lunch, which included one side and I ordered oneextra. For my meats I ordered pulled pork and pulled chicken and my sides were green beans and cole slaw. The meats wereseasoned perfectly and had a nice smoke flavor to them. The green beans were tender and had a nice seasoning to them, and thecole slaw reminded me of my grandmothers. I will visit again whenever I?m the area. My only complaint was what I thought mighthave been a small serving size for the prices. But if you?re after flavor, it?s worth it. Read more
Just discovered this place in the seemingly ever rotating location on the corner of argent and 170 by chance through google... maps. We were searching for dinner options and this place sounded great! I ordered the fried chicken with baked potato saladand collard greens while my hubby got the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese. The fried chicken was a breast and a thighseasoned and cooked to crisp perfection. It was good dipped in the vinegar and eaten with the picketed onions. Collards weretasty and just tender enough and pulled pork sandwich with the bbq cherry sauce was delicious. The hubby liked my potato saladbut it was not for me so much so he enjoyed it. The place had a nice little outdoor seating area and rocking chairs out front.Staff here were great taking my order over the phone and also interacting with me when I got to the restaurant. The femalebehind the counter was very pleasant and warm and the other customers, who sounded like regulars, there seemed to like her andthe other employees there. Delicious BBQ, great sides, amazing fried chicken The boys got pulled pork plates which included coleslaw and 2 sides. The... portions were good and the baked potato salad is super good. Our youngest got the smoked wings which were good. I had the friedchicken plate which was amazing. The juiciest chicken I have ever had. The hushpuppies were crispy outside and soft on theinside.
