Very average food, small portions, and higher-than-expected prices. Came here because a foodie friend raved about the Hainan... chicken rice. It was such a tiny portion and lacked in flavour. I was so disappointed!!! Fish noodles were good but came just asa bowl of fish noodles in soup with no other accompaniments. Stir fried green beans were good. Curry chicken with roti was goodtoo, but the bowl of curry chicken was very small. Just so disappointed still because I thought I'd be satisfied and satiated. The four items cost us $67 after tax and I wasn't even full. Read more

Popular Malaysian restaurant which has famous and delicious Hainanese chicken, Singapore laksa noodle, herbal rib soup and... noodles. Expect a bit of wait during peak lunch and dinner hours. Read more

The salt and pepper tofu is over salty, while the Singapore Laksa noodles are too bland! The bak kut teh is just average... quality, only the satay skewers are good! Hainanese chicken is ok but not served with traditional sweet soy sauce (provided usone that very salty) Read more

First visit. Nice decor, freshly staff, good service. We ordered: Hainan half Chicken - really good Wasabi-Mayo prawns - 6... good sized prawns but a tad saltier than I prefer Oyster pancake - good but the pancake part is a bit dry White orchid fishrolls - excellent. Love the dipping sauce as well Mixed skewers - excellent. Comes with 2 beef, 2 lamb, and 2 chicken Greencurry fried rice - okay. Mildly spicy Total $112 plus tip Would come back to try other items like the roti and soup, noodlesoups and specialty items. Read more

I had Hainan Chicken Rice and satay beef skewers, they were very tasty and I would definitely go back to try some other dishes... for sure. Also, not to mention the excellent service! Read more

Got two take out dishes from this place. I marked this restaurant for a while since saw on news. However, the Laksa is not so... special, lack of flavour. I am a little disappointed. Hainese chicken is ok, average. I have no cash with me so in order topay by credit card I have to order the normal size instead of the lunch special. I was told the lunch special is a littlesmaller portion. When I got my normal size takeout, it feels small to me too. Anyhow, this place is not on my list anymore. Read more

Got here and it was opened and it's signature Hainan chicken was still available! ... apparently it was my lucky day LOL Their... Hainan chicken was fresh and juicy, I would say it's the best in town. The rice was tasty and not greasy, so good that I haveto give a thumbs up. The satay beef with gai-lan was tasty too. Staff was very nice. Read more

Okay I'm not really sure why there are high reviews for this place lol. I'm suspecting that most other reviews are from... regulars/owner's friends. While the service was just okay, the food was not great. Below expectations and there definitely arebetter places in the area. We got the mixed satay plate, hainanese chicken, black pepper beef char kway teow, Singapore laksa, and nasi lemak. Not one of them tasted authentic or accurate, so let's break this down: The mixed satay plate was sad. $16 for6 skewers of over-marinated, dry, chewy meats. The satay sauce was also literally just hoisin with peanuts. The hainanesechicken was not authentic at all, it tasted like regular steamed chicken that was cold (I am definitely not a fan of thegelatinous substance that comes with cold chicken). We got the fragrant oil rice to go with this, and that was the onlyredeeming thing about this meal. The char kway teow was also dry with undercooked noodles. It was *really* heavily peppered andthe beef tasted like pepperoni for some reason. Tastes like the Chinese fried beef rice noodles. Singapore laksa was better thanthe other plates, but still not great. Lots of toppings, but pretty heavy on the coconut milk and quite spicier than I'm usedto. Nasi lemak was also sad, just two pieces of curry chicken with rice. Drive east for 5-10 mins and you'll have way betteroptions, with a better price point too. Also weird note: we ordered the waitress's recommendations but she recommended differentdishes to a different table? Yeah, not coming back.... Read more
