Reviews for Sumo San Restaurant in Richmond, VA
Some of the best sushi I?ve had abd I've had sushi all over the world! Fresh & beautifully presented. The inside is cute, nice... handcrafted tables, laid back vibe. Only thing missing was cool music to go with the retro vibe. Love the yakisoba-perfectlyseasoned and not too oily. The waitress is great-attentive without being on top of you. Totally unpretentious vibe. Will beback! Read more
I?m not sure what kind of hibachi this is. Money literally wasted! The ?Yum Yum? sauce was disgusting!! ????????It left a BAD... after taste in my mouth and they were very stingy with the extra sauces even after I told them I didn?t mind paying $1 each! Will NOT go back! Read more
best sushi place ever!!!!! super fast service and absolutely delicious sushi!!!! would definitely recommend:)
Excellent sushi! I had the London roll and my gf had the Crouching Tiger. Excellently plated and the wait wasn't long at all!... And they have Kikkoman plum wine here, which is phenomenally sweet and delicious. Conveniently located right on main street (right across from Miyabi, which is also fantastic), it's not too hard to find parking and the prices were competitive! Added tothe rotation Read more
The sushi here is delicious and great quality! Our server was very nice and the sushi chef was so incredibly friendly and... positive. Also one of the few places I can find Uni (sea urchin roe) actually in stock. Our food took a bit of time to come outbut it's a pandemic and there's a staffing shortage so that's completely understandable. The atmosphere is really nice and a bitquirky. I'm definitely going to be a regular customer here. Read more
We came here to eat pretty late around 9 and glad they were open till 10. Only one main server and one if the Sushi chefs helped... serve us. We ordered a bottle of sake - Sho Chiku Bai Nigori and that was pretty good. You got a little more of that rice tastedue to it being unfiltered. We ordered quite a but- the Spicy seafood soup, Beef garlic fried rice, eel and uni Sashimi. Weordered a variety of sushi - octopus and we also got a caterpillar roll. I don't recall everything we got but it was all verygood and good cuts with not too much rice. I really liked the flavor of the seafood soup. It didn't have a lot of seafood, someshrimp, fish and imitation crab meat. There was some noodles and cabbage in there too. Loved the way it tasted though. The beefgarlic fried rice was also good and flavorful but I wish it had more garlic in there. Overall a great Sushi spot. Read more
We came here for dinner. Despite there being not many other people there besides us, the food took a while to come out. The... place itself looks dated and the interior is not much to look at but is sufficient. Chef had his nose out and sometimes hismouth too while wearing his mask. Though the sushi itself was actually pretty tasty. Baked one was nice and had a lot of flavor.Sashimi pieces were good as well. A decent choice for a sushi dinner in Richmond. Read more
Victor served up the best sushi I've had in Richmond since I moved here in 2015. Great conversation too
