10/1/22 - First time to Portico. A very nice setting inside and out. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, other wait staff... were helpful (clearing dishes, dropping food off). The potato leek soup had a great taste and kept us guessing on its uniqueflavor. The bolognese and flounder dishes were good. The bread dip was something I had not had before, and my wife was quitepleased, as she is not one to normally use bread dips. We will be back. Read more
What a lovely experience! The food was exceptional and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered the caprese for an... appetizer and it was absolutely delicious! For entrees, we decided on penne a la vodka and baked spaghetti with meatballs - wow!Both were delicious and with large enough portions to take home. Additionally, we had the wedge salad and a caesar salad -again, very tasty. To finish the meal, I ordered the limoncello layer cake and it was delightful and light - the perfectdessert! My pictures don?t do it justice, but this is the most charming romantic patio in Richmond. I was spellbound when I first came... here by the twinkling lights in the trees, the candle-lit stone fireplace, and the adjoining herb garden you can walk throughwhile enjoying your wine. The wait for the patio can be long, but it?s SO worth it. I?ve enjoyed pasta here, especially thevodka sauce, and we also like the flatbread pizzas. This is place I return to for experience and aesthetics over anything,although service is always lovely. Read more
Portico continues to be my favorite place to dine al Fresco. The shrimp tempura and fried artichoke hearts were outstanding. Our... entrees were delicious and beautifully presented. You must save room for dessert as they are celestial . The ambiance on thepatio surrounded by a meticulously kept garden makes for a relaxing dinner. This is the place to go for special celebrations orwhen you want to pamper yourself. We?ve traveled a bit and can tell you without reservation Richmond is truly blessed to havesuch an epicurean delight in our own backyard!! Very excellent evening. We made reservations in advance with specific instructions for outside dining. We were notified in... advance that our time slot needed to be adjusted before the day of our reservation. When we got there we were greeted promptlybut were informed our table wasn't ready. We ended up being seated a bit later which ended up being our original time slotanyway. Justin our waiter was pleasant and very entertaining. He made our evening from beginning to end a great success. Thefood was delicious in look and taste. The dessert hit the spot. Highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
Great food. We got the Benny and the french toast. Also, the tomato bisque is amazinggg!! Good cocktails too. It's a little... pricey but not crazy, and definitely reasonable for the quality. Fair warning though, service was reeeally slow. Our res was for1:15, we were seated at 1:35 and didn't order until almost 2pm. But it's still Covid times and we're all doing our best, so it'scompletely forgivable. We should all be patient with restaurants ???? Read more
First time here and only heard great things about it! Michelle was our server and gave us great recommendations! Meatballs and... garlic pesto bread for apps & my daughter and I -we shared an entree! Highly recommend! Beautiful countryside of the suburbs,scenic drive, beautiful in fall with leaves changing ?? outdoor patio is heated, music is a vibe, & cocktails we delish!
