This was my 2nd time visiting Capital Waffle shop, and let me say the difference between locations are very distinct. The waffle... was sloppily served, the chicken bites(should have been strips) looked as though they were left overs from a previous order, andthe staff was uninterested in providing steller customer service. The amount of flies flying around was a bit disturbing, and noone seemed interested in making customer interactions count. This location could take some lessons from the downtown Richmondlocation that is clean, environment friendly, and food served with a sense it wasn't just thrown at you...I would take apicture, but I will let others visit and make their own judgment. the BEST waffles and dare i say, breakfast, in RVA (at the very least for the price) always quick, delicious, and the service is... top notch. i'm here once a week minimum to study at the bar and get coffee and waffles. Read more
Maybe the best chicken and waffles I've ever eaten. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried, but still juicy. The waffles... was crisp on the outside but light and fluffy inside. The crushed cereal sprinkled on top is pure genius. The staff is friendlyand waffle inspired decor if super fun. If your in downtown Richmond, I highly recommend Capitol Waffles for breakfast orbrunch. We'll definitely be back. Read more
This is a small shop. They have 4 tables inside, so prepare to take it with you or eat and move. The waffles were light and... fluffy, the topping that they offer were wide. We enjoyed this place a lot and my girls wanted Capital Waffles the next morning. Read more
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!! ???????? Omg another 1st visit and boy am I beyond glad I did. I now know there's 2 locations;... but I'm glad my girl and I choose the smaller more quaint 1 in the VCU area off N. Harrison because I got to meet the managerForrest and cook Hunter (isn't that cute lol) who were super cool. Seriously though if you love waffles & mixing things up,you've gotta try ' Capitol Waffle Shop'. I'm talking sweet, savory & spicy all exploding in my mouth at the same joyous time!!???? My choice was the ' Chorizo/egg/melted queso' and my goodness, once you top it w/ that sweet/thick syrup.... It's a wrap.Finally to wet/cleanse my palate; I had to have a mimosa garnished w/ a sugar dusted Belgian ???? ????. The only reason theydidn't get 5 stars is because they'res not 1 closer to me lol. Stopped here for a bite to eat when I as on my way to Hollywood Cemetery. Food was good as was the service. Not a huge menu but... enough of a variety to make it interesting for anyone. I choose the scrambled egg bowl and was more than happy with it. Theprice was right and the bowl filling and that is all I ask for when I eat breakfast. Decor is not fancy but the place was cleanand that to me is more important when I am planning to eat somewhere. Had a pleasant meal before carrying on to my intendeddestination. Read more
The worst experience. We were a group of 3 and she served our drinks with one of the cups in her armpit and the drinks with... served in a paper cup. Plus the food was served in a paper bowl. Mind you, this was a dine in. We had to walk up to the bar andplace the order, pay and come back to sit to wait on the food. The food came out cold which means it was already made down. Thehot chocolate we ordered had no cocoa mix just syrup. Don?t go there. The place was dirty and smelly. With fruit flies allaround. This was a very bad experience. Read more
