The staff are friendly and the drinks are fine. The owner hired me, an independent gardener, and didn’t pay the invoice for... two weeks. No response to multiple emails. It took going in and asking an employee to text him. (I doubt their pay covers takingcare of his managing issues). I wouldn’t recommend supporting a business that doesn’t respect its financial commitments orthe time and energy of its employees. If you go, tip the baristas well. That goes for any food service though! Read more

(review from a month ago) an impromptu trip to richmond led me to this coffee shop i had been dying to go to! i wish we... could\'ve been able to go in and check out the place, but due to covid restrictions, we couldn\'t. thankfully it was a reallynice day, and we sat outside in this cute little nook next to the shop.\n\ni had a dirty chai with oat milk, and my boyfriendhad a vanilla iced latte. a 10/10, and the girl who worked there was lovely as well! i will be definitely be coming back! Stopped in for a cold brew while out riding around the city on my bike. Staff was courteous dispite my google pay not wanting to... work properly. Will definitely stop again if I\'m ever cruising through the area! Read more
A friend showed us this place. It is very homey with only a few people working. Worth the wait. The menu is small, which makes... it easy to choose between options. They have a frequent sipper card for regular customers and a nice area to sit outside.Another cool thing is there is a book exchange in front of the coffee shop ???? Read more
I got the 16oz Flavor Latte (with Gingerbread) and soy milk. My drink was made super fast! The place is small, seating is a bit... limited for groups larger than two people. Just about everyone in here is doing work on laptops so it’s fairly quiet. Thebarista was a little straight forward and didn’t care much to sprinkle in some extra friendliness but it didn’t ruin myexperience at all.\n\nI wish they used in-house mugs or “for here” mugs. It would reduce some waste!\n\nEDIT: they do havein house mugs, but they are only for smaller lattes and drinks :). ????????\n\nOverall the coffee was very good and I am veryhappy! I would recommend this place for people looking to study or wind down and relax with a coffee.\n\nOff topic: lots ofwindows for natural light, yet the room was still very dark for whatever reason. We absolutely love Black Hand! Definitely appreciate that they are one of the few truly dog-friendly coffee shops in RVA. We go... every Sunday now for the delicious bagel sandwiches and lattes. Great espresso, friendly staff, and even though it’s usuallybusy- service is quick. Read more
