Reviews for 8 ½ in The Fan in Richmond, VA
I paid a visit to 8 1/2 for the first time. Let me tell you. It's best to order ahead and it's worth the wait. I ordered a... basic red pizza.....aka just cheese. That's how they call it. In case you haven't figured it out the name is the actual size ofthe pizza. It is a perfect portion for two but you may want to order your own so you don't have to share. I come from the meccaof pizza NYC.....I know its Italy but just go with it. The standard is crust and sauce then cheese.... in that order. Wow thecrust is crunchy until the end..it will not get soft or soggy. Yeah that's amazing I know. Now for the sauce it's definitelyreal Ingredients that you can taste individually like tomatoes garlic and basil....oh my it really a homerun. The cheese is aperfect portion. Thet have mastered the art of pizza. Go try for yourself you owe it to your taste buds. I'm mad for notfinding this place sooner. Read more
While I can see someone saying that an avg price of $16 for a personal pizza seems high, the quality of the bake and the actual... size of the pizza feels well worth it here. You won't walk away hungry from one of these. Got the breakfast and pepperoni - bothexcellent, and really enjoyed the large cuts of pepperoni. Read more
This place has great pizza. Simple menu, but they really deliver on quality. I usually stick to the classic pepperoni, but... spiced it up this time with some sausage. Read more

Authentic Italian-style food right in The Fan. You'll smell the fresh herbs and spices as soon as you walk in. And the food does... not disappoint. The tomato bisque was exactly how the style should be -- hearty, flavorful and thick. Not watery like you getelsewhere. Cooked in front of me in a saucepan, made to order. Underrated spot I'd highly recommend. Read more
Tasty thin pizza! We bought the pepperoni and a calzone. Our pizza was QUITE greasy, it was dripping. After dabbing it off the... pizza was very good! Our calzone was cooked to perfection and came with a generous portion of homemade (?) dipping sauce, we hadplenty left over to dip our pizza crust. The calzone ends that didn't have filling were yummy all by itself. Personal preferenceis there was way to much ricotta in the calzone. A little pricy, but a great picnic splurge. (there is a nice little park acrossthe street that you can sit at to enjoy your pizza on a nice day) Customer service could use a little uplifting. We were able tofind parking on a side street, since they have no parking lot or anywhere to wait for your food. It was a nice day so we took awalk during the 30 minute wait. Read more
Service is good and the food is definitely unique. The meat lasagna had to be the best and most unique tasting lasagna I ever... had. Glad I ordered that. Pizza was unique too but not the best pizza we ever had. We did not like the salad at all, it camewith some type of balsamic house dressing, ranch was not available. We attempted to order roasted chicken but they were out. Weordered by phone and they told us that it would take 30 to 40 minutes, and they told us that they don't have a parking lot, justneed to find a place to park in the side of the street, not in the middle of the street because the street is narrow and thisseems to be college town VCU Virginia Commonwealth University. When we arrived, we found a parking spot on the side of thestreet, called and they brought our food out immediately, no wait time. Curbside pickup, thank you! Read more
Ordered two potato leek soups and got the most watered down thin soup with zero leeks and barely any flavor. Extremely... disappointed as this is my favorite soup in town. Guess I'll stick to church hill Read more
