Old school local charm...maybe a little like "Cheers." It felt like everybody knew each other - except we hadn't been in ages... because we moved farther away. We had red fish with a white wine sauce with shrimp and mushrooms, plus fried okra, lobsterbisque and baked oysters. (Also on the table, stuffed salmon and grilled salmon). It was all wonderful with the possibleexception of the stuffed salmon being slightly over-cooked. All in in all, Pier 36 is like a reunion where you get to hang outwith awesome people you like and enjoy all the yummy eats that showed up! We will be back for sure! Read more

The food and service is good. Baked oysters had crab meat. Whole snapper was simple and fresh. The tail was crispy enough to... crunch on. Read more

Went here with the whole family! The food was so delicious. The service was great! I ordered the catfish and shrimp. It came... with fries and a side salad. Even the side salad was delicious. We all loved the food! (It?s very cold in there) Read more

Always very good. Most times we order one of the specials. Service is always excellent. Gets busy during regular hours, so this... past time we took the opportunity to go at 4 PM, mostly as a very late lunch, but it was almost full by 5:30 PM. Never had a baddish, or one improperly prepared. Consistently very good. Nice little bar if that is your thing. It's Texas, so (of course)individual portion sizes start at huge and range all the way up to "easily feeds two people." Their hush puppies are better thanmost of the local BBQ joints (i.e., they are not greasy). It's exactly like a great little hole in the wall joint, except it'snot little nor is it a hole in the wall. Just very good seafood. If you're in the area, don't miss it. UPDATE: It's been a whilesince we last visited, avoiding being in crowded restaurants, but we were in the area, and hungry, so we dropped in. Menu nowthree times the size it used to be, and the food is just as good or better. Many of the items that used to be favorite specialsare now regular menu items. The Oysters on the Half Shell are as good as any other restaurant in the greater Houston area that Ihave reviewed (or not). They are huge and FRESH. Service here is spectacular. They serve food at the bar as well; while we werevisiting, there was a steady stream of drinkers and eaters (mostly single diners). Be sure to pay attention to the specials onthe board when you come in, or ask about them; they are consistently "special" (not on the regular menu) and a good value. Ifyou ever see Stuffed Flounder or Rainbow Trout Pontchartrain, be sure not to miss them. Read more

The last three times I have ordered from here the food was either sub par, wrong or overcharged. I gave Pier 36 one last try... tonight. I ordered Shrimp Brochette and got shrimp and grits. So terribly disappointed. Probably the last time. Sad to say. Hard to say as I have known Jimmy my whole life. Read more

Never knew this gem was so near Granary Flats Apartments. Being new to the Richmond area, I'm always searching for new eateries.... This place is jumping. Great vibes and energy from friendly staff. Brandon is attentive and courteous. Definitely coming backfor the grilled fish tacos! Read more

Great service, great ambiance. Oysters were fresh, and the crawfish etouffee was on point - savory and not too salty. Waitress... Emmy was knowledgeable and helpful. Came after 8 on Saturday so didn?t have to wait too long. Hope to try the other specialswhen I come back to the area! Read more

This place is great. Now if don't mind having absolutely no lights outside in the parking lot and off the beaten path, then this... is the spot. I had 2 lemon drops. (Thank you, Emme, they were perfect as bartender). As I as appetizers, we had had the dozenoysters stuffed with crab meat and spinach as well as the crab meat mushrooms (5) with cheese sauce on the side. As well as theBourdain balls (5) with fries. The mushrooms were so good I had one left before I realized that I had not taken a picture. Ihad the blackened catfish and shrimp. It also comes with a side salad. The entree was ho hum. Too many other varieties tochoose from. I had not been there in 5 years. So it was worth a revisit. Hint: skip the blackened option for any entree andkeep it mind there might be a wait since no other restaurants nearby. But definitely worth the drive to Richmond. Read more
