Well, what can I say or not say?the service was friendly, but the server was hard to wave down; the food was too long in coming... and didn?t come all at once; calamari, fries and potatoes were over-salted; my eggs benedict had hard boiled eggs and had to besent back; the crab cake was mushy and doughy; the smoked salmon tasted cooked; the cheesecake was so sweet it tastedsupermarket-bought?and, on top of all that, there was a 18% tip charge added because the baby was counted to make our party 8people, the minimum for that charge! The one star was for the mimosa and fish (not the salty soft chips). Sad I chose this placefor Mother?s Day lunch. Maybe it?s only the brunch food that is so poorly cooked. Read more
I love the location as its on the steveston dock. I ordered the cod burger which was good but my fries were way overcooked. Now... it usually wouldnt be a problem but i like good fries and i was kinda disappointed as i was really realy hungry. Lol. Bewarewhat you order here but enjoy the view. Bon Appetite! Read more
Good service and nice patio seating but the food was mediocre at best. The poached eggs in the smoked salmon brunch were... miserably overcooked, the spring rolls were pale and stale, and the crab tasted fresh from a can. Read more
My husband and I had brunch at Sockeye City Grill on Saturday. The weather was great and we were seated outside. My husband had... the oyster burger and I had the cod burger that our server recommended. I love the cod burger with fries (you can have saladinstead) Food and service was great and we will be coming more often. Coffee was great too! Read more
I have a very bad experience today in this restaurant, takes too long to seat you, the host chose to clean table first instead... letting theyre customer get a table, 10 minutes to get you a seat while there is no line up, we ordered our food and it takesalmost 30 minutes to get it serve, the pasta I ordered is not cook enough so they offered to replaced it so another 10 minutesto wait and then they serve it without the garlic toast ????, the pasta is not that great, hotpot is not worth it for the price, bottom line is I like to support my local business, I am not happy with the service and food today but I will give it a tryagain on my next trip to Steveston. They didn't charge me for the pasta hassle so I appreciate that. Read more
Family friendly, staff masked up and plexi-glass partitions up between tables. Servers are sometimes a but slow but they are... attentive and friendly. Fish & chips is delicious. Burgers are a bit pricey and not quite worth the price tag. Read more
Had a lovely leisurely lunch on the sunny deck. We waited longer than anticipated because the hostess put us down for outside... rather than the faster inside dining room we selected when told it would be 10 minutes vs 45. To our delight our server, John,was excellent, attentive, fun and helpful. The food was very tasty and the portions generous. I was surprised that all draftbeers were not included in the beer flight selection. We decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and have an outdoor patio dinner in Steveston. After strolling along the... boardwalk and surveying the options we picked Sockeye City Grill. My husband ordered a Halibut Burger, our daughter orderedGrilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries, and I ordered a Penne Pasta dish. Penne Pasta: It came with spinach, grape tomatoes,mushrooms, fresh herbs, parmesan and a basil-pesto sauce. Simply sublime! Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries: Her sandwich andfries came with a drink, and she got it all for $10. Pretty reasonably priced, especially considering how generous the portionswere. Grilled cheese was grilled to perfection, and she was a very happy girl. My husband's Halibut Burger: Crispy on theoutside and tender on the inside. Service: Good Parking: Plenty of free parking on the streets, but on a sunny day it can bequite busy in Steveston.
