Reviews for Red Star Seafood Restaurant in Richmond, BC

This location of Red Star is a fairly smallish restaurant located in President's Plaza (next to Yaohan). Most of the food items... were okay like the siu mai and spareribs. Beef rice rolls were better and had nice soft rice sheets encasing the beef. I likedthe soft and fluffy chicken and ginger steamed buns as well as the stuffed bean curd sheets in consomme broth. It's been awhile since I had honeycomb cakes. Given all the airy holes, you'd expect it to be lighter in texture. The seafood efu noodleswas a fairly small dish. While the noodles were good, it could have used more toppings. Parking is available - just don't parkin the Yaohan area by mistake. Read more

Over priced, low quality. Sweet and sour pork is frozen food level. Peking duck is not crispy - not freshly made

Came here for dinner and everything was just mediocre. I had huge expectations since I'm from the states and I was always told... Richmond has good Chinese food. Service was a little slow. Peking duck was dry and the abalone had too much garlic smeared ontop. The beef was super chewy so if you're going to order that you should ask for a knife ahead of time. Read more

Came here for Dim Sum and it was pretty expensive for food that really isn't that good. The dishes weren't very flavorful, and... our congee wasn't hot. Service wasn't great and we were pretty much ignored the time we were there. Every other restaurant we'vebeen to for dim sum, they ask what kind of tea you want as soon as you are seated. at least with us, we had to ask someone fortea. By the way, the entrance to the parking is well hidden if you've never park there before (it's in the back of the building,by Yaohan Center). I gave up and just park next door. Read more

Great dim sim spot. All my favorites here including shrimp dumplings, beef tribes and intestines, sticky rice in lotus leaf, and... their egg tarts are the best. To get there second floor indoor parking is the way to go where you can park up to two hours andyou walk through a corridor to convenient walk right to the restaurant. Read more

One of the few restaurants I would go to for Hong Kong Cantonese type dishes. The food quality, flavor and portion have been... very consistent and never disappoint through the many times I visited. Price is comparable to the many restaurants in the areaso nothing to complain. Best part is you don't have to fight for parking since it pretty much has an entire parkade to itself, not like other strip malls in Richmond where 3-5 restaurants had to share 20 spots. Read more

It has space to hold large parties which is a benefit for most Asian families. However the food is a bit on the subpar side.... Fish dishes didn't seem as fresh as they could be considering they had their own live fish tanks. Food with beef and chicken arepretty good, but not amazing. Some things also tasted a bit under seasoned but that may not necessarily be bad for some diets.Staff is friendly and accommodating. Read more
