Reviews for Millennium Karaoke in Richmond, BC
The person working in the front was extremely rude. We brought 1/4 bottle of soju with us as we forgot to throw it out. Lady... came in and was extremely rude about it and never returned the bottle at the end of the night (we can understand the rules, butdid not expect such rudeness). Extremely watered down shots. Charged a gratuity fee on 4 people for two hours (when there was noservice). Expect to pay a lot for poor customer service. The ramen tasted purely like broccoli. Do not expect much. Read more
Average place for karaoke. Staff were super nice! However I didn?t like how the machines were so glitchy and it was hard to... work. We also had the option to connect our phone to use Spotify or YouTube which was good but it kept disconnecting. Alsothought that the rooms were not the biggest. It also would?ve been more nice if we could have more than just two mics. Read more
My friend and I decided to try this place out for fun and it wasn?t the greatest experience. The charges were ridiculous so... many extra fees, we were given a receipt so were confused with the high price paid. When we phone to have this explained ladywho answered was rude, I kept having to ask for each individual charge as she would say one and stay silent. The music was fine, the rooms just weren?t private at all. What?s the point of a private room if everyone can see and hear you. Won?t be retuningthat?s for sure. Read more
my friend and i went here to have a good time but felt like we were robbed. the song selection was good, but that was about... it. the rooms were not sound proof and the doors were see through glass so everyone can see and hear you. we stayed for aboutan hour and 5 minutes and had 2 shots each - the total came to $106. they just kept adding charges on charges and we thoughtmaybe we got billed for the wrong room. we called to ask and the girl on the phone was very condescending and rude. you canstill go to try it out for yourself but we definitely will not be returning. A good selection of music, and each room has enough space for around 6-8 people. Location is also very convenient, being on No.... 3 Road and near Aberdeen SkyTrain. The rooms have nice ambient lighting and are insulated enough that you won't hear yourneighbours while you're singing. One of our microphones ran out of battery power, but you just have to bring them to the frontdesk and they'll replace the battery in a jiffy, which was awesome. However, the big music selection tablet is unbelievablydifficult to use. The touchscreen is incredibly slow to respond and doesn't detect every touch. Maybe I've been spoiled withrelatively responsive touchscreen devices, but for a device that costs $4000 (they link the purchase page for the device in a QRcode on the TV), I would expect a better user experience. In addition, if you want to search for Chinese songs, the pinyin inputdoes not work properly, and because the touchscreen is very unresponsive, handwriting is impractical with characters beyond afew strokes. Now, on the tablet and TV, they provide a QR code which supposedly gives you some control from your phone. However, it links to a local IP address, and they don't give you access to the network which has that IP address. You're onlyallowed access to guest Wi-Fi, so that QR code is useless. Read more
We had the best time at Millennium Karaoke! We went in for their all you can sing deal on a Sunday night ($20/per person, it... used to be lower apparently, but you can't blame them with the insane inflation right now). Great service, a very easy to useinterface for the songs, and no pressure from the staff at all to leave or order more food. Great western song selectiontoo! Pretty good soundproofing. You can only hear other rooms if you completely pause your own music. Highly recommend, we'lldefinitely be coming back :) Read more
Great deal for all-you-can-sing on weekend nights. The staff that set us up was really kind. Tasty drinks and food to keep you... going all night. The vibe in the back of the lobby with the bar is really cool. The (currently) new touch tablets used forselecting songs are big and great, but are *very* sensitive, so you'll often end up accidentally selecting songs whilescrolling. It's not clear if you can remove songs from your list without first playing the song. Input languages only includeEnglish, pinyin and Chinese radicals, so it's not possible to search for anything that is in Korean, or Japanese hiragana orkatakana. They have an impressively large selection of songs and artists that many other places don't have. Though some areabsent, so it's an even trade. The microphones are louder than other locations and the mic volume bar on the tablet doesn't seemto change it, but you get used to it after a while. The rooms are incredibly well sound-proofed so you can barely hear anythingfrom outside the room. You can't split the bill if you pay for everything at the end, but they accept credit cards (not justcash) and these days people can just e-transfer each other so it's no problem. Overall, amazing experience and definitely theplace to go for late-night karaoke! Read more
Plain karaoke place and the prices are okay. ~20$ for a Sunday night with a good selection of English and canto songs. The mics... died an hour into the night. Read more
