What a yummy spot for BBQ! This is the 3rd Gyu-Kaku location I have visited and all of them are consistently great. ???????? The... food selection is plenty (lots of pages!) and the food is tasty. During our recent visit, we got the Meat Variety Combo for 3($40 per person) and it had everything from starter salads, selection of meats and even a s’mores treat at the end. We leftvery happy! The place is pretty cool and the vibe is nice & energetic. I recommend you make a reservation online to reduce waittimes. Read more

I love trying new restaurants. So for my birthday I wanted to try Japanese bbq. I was not disappointed! We had a group of 4... ladies and we got the value course with a few extra sides and meat options. At first it didn't seem like much but by the end wewere all full and happy :) Our server was very sweet. She explained how everything worked and how to cook each dish, since itwas our first time there. I can't wait to go back, totally worth the journey from Abbotsford! Read more

I think this bbq has high quality meats, from chicken/pork and seafood! Enjoyed the food! Our server Raymond was also very... helpful and provided exceptional service for my first time here! I also like their beer cocktails! I thought that was different! They were very refreshing and a perfect beverage for the food! Will definitely be back! Read more

It’s our third time dining here, and every time we crave for bbq grill, we frequent this place as its quite nearby our home... plus the food is great. The meat marinate is delicious especially for pork and chicken paired with their shredded cabbage withroasted garlic sides. Beef wise, just ok for me. I love how the taste of that burnt charcoal on the meat is incorporated. Wealso ordered for takoyaki, karaage , crispy bacon , shrimp with mayo for appetizer, but actually you can pair it with rice asmain. Takoyaki is not cheap tasting, my wife loves the shrimp with mayo though I find it salty for me but it is really good. Karaage on the other hand is good though I wish it could have been crispier while the crispy bacon is just right ,you can dasha pinch of salt and lemon juice too for both . We also ordered for kids menu, similar to adult choices but in small portions. It comes with corn kernels , chicken and pork marinate for grill and green beans. Small portion but serves like an adult combomeal for a kid. As for dessert, we tried the smores, and matcha tiramisu. It’s cool that they will provide you skewers toroast the marshmallows and put it in the crackers with chocolate slices . The matcha , tiramisu is not too sweet, you cantaste the “tea” in it which is not overpowering. Service wise, staff is courteous, customer service is fantastic. They willmake dining experience with convenience and comfort The best part is that I thought our order will come up to a hundred overdollars but surprisingly, its only $67 and that included the tax and tip. I gave 4 stars because of the long waiting time.withor without appointment. Read more

I tried their other location on Broadway, that's why I am a bit disappointed about the Richmond one. The seats are not... comfortable. Lighting too dark. Overall environment is not very enjoyable. Food is average but service is above average. Priceis fair too. If you like Japanese grill, it could be a good choice. Read more

First of all, the wait time is a bit long. I made a reservation for 7:30, and they didn’t set me food till 8:20. Took them a... long time to serve the appetizer. Secondly, the fried food is not that great, chicken karage is not crispy and it was not pipinghot when it was served. The taiyaki tasted like oil. Felt like it was re-fried too many times and it soaked up so much oilduring the process. You taste nothing but oil. The bbq was good. The matcha tiramisu was still partly frozen when it was served. The plate is warm, so the bottom of the cream was melting while the top of the cake was still frozen…. Read more

????Trying to make reservations all the time but can’t get through the phone calls. So just went to the store and wait for an... hour;( ????The quality of the meat is just at average level, ordered a three person meal, a little bit too many for us. LOVEthe salad and sweet corn(!! Literally SO GOOD). Dessert was okay but just too full to taste them. ????Service was OK, thewaitress looks too busy to explain what the meat is and how to cook to make it taste better. ????Will try again on a weekday, don’t want to wait for too long;)) Read more
