Reviews for Dolpan Seoul BBQ in Richmond, BC
The service was energetic and cheerful. The BBQ ribs were tasty, as was the kimchi fried rice and various bulgogi bowls. The... food was a little pricey, but tasty. I?d definitely recommend a visit if you?re in the mood for authentic Korean food. Read more
Went here for lunch on a Monday and it was completely empty. The food is just as good as it was before, not sure why people are... complaining. In the past they did have a grill on the table but they always had their waiters cook it at the table for us. Howis this different to the kitchen cooking the meat perfectly? When you self cook, you can burn the meat if you wait just a bittoo long. The pink radishes were sooo good. Completely worth it to get the combo! Read more
Stopped by this plaza for dinner and ended up at Dolpan - it was empty when we got there at 7:30PM but every table was full when... we left! We got the corn cheese ($4) to start. It was really tasty but the cheese didn?t stay melted for long. Next was thekalbi beef rice bowl ($15.50). It came with some well seasoned beef ribs and an egg, but it didn?t have any veggies. The bestdish was the army hot pot. Good amount of ramen, bean sprouts, rice cakes, sausage, spam, tofu, pork belly, kimchi and toppedwith cheese! Also the perfect amount of spice. Banchan has to be ordered separately at extra charge. Service was great though! Read more
We were a little disappointed to find out that we didn't get to BBQ at our table because it's all done in the kitchen. We had... the BBQ Combo B which had 4 cuts of pork for up to 4 people. The portion was big and flavourful. Other than the BBQ, we weren'timpressed with the bland japchae, the too sweet rice cake and the oily fried rice. The price I think was a little expensive too.The restaurant was clean, service was very good and parking was plenty. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. Read more
Don?t know what exactly happened but since they change their menu, it?s getting worse. This place used to be one of my favorite... korean BBQ restaurant. I?ve been coming here since before covid until recently. The food quality is really down the hill now.The seafood pancake I used to eat here was never like this. I saw the server REHEAT it in a small oven just outside the kitchen. So i?m paying almost $12 for a leftover??? It?s soggy and very2 oily. The soft tofu soup should be firry HOT so the raw egg theyput on top could be cooked, but NOPE, we?ve been waiting for the egg to cooked like 10mins and it?s still raw. We ordered theBBQ combo C that is the most expensive one on the combo side, and the seve the sauce in a small plastic takeaway container.Server are not as friendly as the ones before. They don?t even ask how?s the food to us. I?m truly disappointed of the changes. This is sad!!!! not coming back here again. Sorry! From 5/5 Now it?s 1/5 Read more
Came here with friend recently. The restaurant is on the small side, so we had to wait a bit for a table, but they added us to... the waitlist and gave us a call when the table was ready. The waitress was very friendly and polite, and I enjoyed the smalleratmosphere. The food was pretty good, albeit on the pricey side--I ordered the LA galbi combo which came with the galbi, kimchi, and kimchi fried rice with a small fried egg on top. The galbi was nicely cooked, although didn't have too much of agrilled flavour or char to it--but the flavour was good (the marinade seemed to give it a slight gingery taste). The kimchifried rice was actually very nice--the flavour was not too spicy or overpowering. The portion sizes looked a bit small at first, but were actually quite filling. The one thing that surprised me on the menu was the charge to refill or order sidedishes thattypically come for free at a lot of other Korean restaurants (if not included in your combo meal). But overall, a goodexperience. Read more
Came here a while ago before covid. But this place was really good! Still remember it like it was yesterday because the quality... of the meat was good. the soft tofu soup was good too, not my favorite but definitely up there. And comparing to some other kbbqspots the price isn't that bad! Read more
Of the people-filled eateries at the Continental Plaza, this Korean restaurant was almost empty at 7 pm on a Friday night, so we... paused to look at the menu posted on the door, thinking that the lack of patrons might reflect the quality of the food. Eventhough the menu showed that they don?t offer complimentary banchan like most Korean restaurants do, we went in anyway since wewanted Korean food and it was past our dinnertime. They only serve hot water, not tea. We ordered two combos that together gotus some extras (rice, sweet soy potatoes, thin radish wraps, lettuce and sauce) that other places freely include. The food wasoverall fairly good as was the service and speed in which the food came. The kitchen grilled the pork belly, so we didn?t needto do it ourselves. This was good (could concentrate on eating and talking) and bad (the meat was a bit dry). The restaurantfilled up a bit while we were there. The prices were reasonable for what we got. Dolpan would not be my first choice for Koreanfood, but in a pinch I?d return. Read more
