This is one of the best restaurant meals I have had in a long time I tried the make-your-own bowl with jerk chicken, rice and... collards and it was fantastic. The greens were especially wonderful. I?m bummed! Saw a lot of great reviews about this place so I was excited to try it! My hubby and I were disappointed in our... meals. For the price of the bowl ($18-$21 a piece) we were expecting high quality ingredients loaded with lots of yummy things!Neither of us finished our meal. The green collards were very salty, chicken was too much bread to meat ratio, cornbread was dryand rice was ok-there was just so much of it? More sautéed veggies would have made this meal way better for me. I hate giving alocal place not good ratings, but I don?t know that I would come back here ?? maybe it?s just not our flavor palette. Ordered from here today for lunch for the office. Great concept and delicious but they forgot cornbread for couple of the bowls... that stated came with it. We got the Southern Hospitality bowls & the chicken & waffle one. Definitely will try it again. Couldn't give 5 stars due to the missing cornbread. Read more
In town for work and was starving around lunch time. This place caught my eye so decided to try it out. I did the Southern... Hospitality and the Grape/Pineapple Punch. This bowl had boneless fried chicken, Mac & cheese, greens and yams. There was also aside of cornbread. Everything was absolutely delicious and I?m very much wishing I didn?t have to work after lunch because Ineed a nap now. A few minor notes: -The juice from the greens fill up the bottom of the bowl so it soaks your base, in my casethe mac & cheese -the cornbread is good but different. It has a slight sweetness to it and reminded me a lot of PoundCake. -There was a lot of sweet things I ate (cornbread, yams, juice), I kinda wish there was a spicy element to this dish tohelp offset that.
