Gumbo was some kind of light brown watery soup with a few very chewy shrimp and a few little pieces of some kind of fish. Tasted... like it's been microwaved. Food is terrible! Order the crab stuffed shrimp, the shrimp and crab hush puppies, and a bunch of sides. The crab stuff shrimp... is basically a frozen butterfly shrimp stuck with frozen crab cake meat. The stuff that is mostly breading, it was almost likestuffing. The shrimp and crab hush puppies were fried cheese balls. Every time I bet into them I got a mouthful of Grease to thepoint of I had to tear them in half, drain the grease and then eat it. I did not taste a bit of seafood in these cheesy greasemesses. Top it all off the "made fresh daily" bread pudding was as hard as a brick. The best thing was the fries and all for$40. I used to come here for lunch at least once a week when I worked in Richardson. The food was good but the red beans and rice... were amazing. I moved away a couple of years ago but was back for a weekend and stopped by for dinner on Sunday. The old placewas just like I remember except it was empty except for maybe 5 customers and two sat outside. The music was up too loud and thehelp and a customer threw feet away had to shout at each other to be heard. The food was okay but we received a baked quarteredpotato instead of buttered red potatoes ordered and the red beans tasted like they were poured out of a can over microwave rice.I guess you can't go home again, especially on the weekends. We looked at the menu online before going and it showed they offered crab legs. When we got there they weren?t on the menu.... Instead I tried the coconut shrimp which was pretty terrible. The rice that comes with it is too sweet and was undercooked andcrunchy. The vegetables are literally the veggies served at nursing homes, and had no flavor. My kids had the popcorn shrimpwhich were alright but we ordered a side of red potatoes and half of them were also undercooked, they couldn?t even be cut theywere so hard. I must say. The first time I had this place we DoorDash a pick up and we had po boys. They were amazing. This past weekend a... buddy and I went there to eat in person because eating at a restaurant should be better right? Unfortunately it was an utterdisappointment. The server was great until I stated that the food was extremely bland. Their response was ?I know that?s why weput seasonings in the bucket on the table?. This actually blew my mind because food should come out of the kitchen alreadyflavored. The customer shouldn?t have to put salt in their food so it actually has flavor. She was helping so many people and Igive her service a 5* because she?s not in the kitchen cooking. The food I give a 1*. I will not be back.
