I was so disappointed. My Co Worker recommended I try Ricky's Hot Chicken due to the fact the line is always out the door. My... expectations were extremely high. Unfortunately, I think I got a bad batch of Chicken. It had a funny taste, and had anhorrible smell. So bad, I couldn't finish it. First time and won't be the last. The place is small with a rather small section for dine-in. So if you want to eat there, be... early, soon as they open. The price and portions are very fair and do get your money's worth. I had the Birds Nest HOT, and itwas delicious! Fries are crinkle style and yummy. My reason for the 4 stars is the lack of attention to detail. I ordered andpaid for 4 servings of 'come back' sauce. Our order was to go and wasn't visible. Thankfully, soon as we walked out, my husbandchecked and sure enough, there were only 2. He had to go back in and even then, the guy insisted the sauces were in one of thecontainers. My husband had to show the receipt and explain, yes 2 but not the 4 ordered. We did get the other 2 but overall itwas an inconvenience,.. check containers, go back in, explain, show proof, etc. Regardless, food is flavorful and worth thetrip. Delicious spot for fried, and truly spicy hot chicken. For a comfortable burn, a medium is the way to go. To have a little bit... of everything in an easy-to-eat container, get the bird?s nest. They will have people lined up even during their second openingof the day, so don?t be late! This is definitely a place you?re going to want to visit if you?re in Richardson. That is one damn good sandwich! And a hot one at that. I ordered it hot and man was it ever!!! And there was 2 levels of heat... above that available to! The don?t have much of a menu, but honestly they don?t need one, the chicken is that good! Thebiggest problem with this place is the size! It needs to be about 3 times as big. I was there 20 minutes before closing on aSunday at lunch and it was packed! There was no place to sit and eat. There was barely anyplace to stand to wait for your foodto take to go! My favorite place to get chicken. Had no idea what Nashville hot chicken was before but absolutely adored Ricky's from the first... bite to the last. Love that there's a variety of options of how you want your chicken (bite sized nuggets here) and the spicelevel so that our kiddo can eat here too (he's also a big fan). The chicken is juicy and crisp with flavor that'll punch you inthe face. The fries are always super crisp, the only thing soggy will be your brow. Just found this place and glad i did. Had the chicken sandwich Hot (habanero) and it was great. Fresh, crispy, juicy, spicy... and hot (temp). Best chicken sandwich ive had in a long time. Fries were delicious with some seasoning and actually crispy. I hate stale soggy fries and these were not. Think it was $12 for the meal. Had hot chicken in Nashville for the first time a couple years back and really liked it so was really excited when i found this... place online and it didn't disappoint! The chicken is well seasoned, not soggy or too oil, brioche bun was fluffy and beautifuland tasted amazing! I did ask for no pickles but still got pickles on it but it's not worth taking a star away from them, now ifit keeps happening then we will need to edit this review. I got the sando which is the most popular item off the menu and Icould taste why. The fries were really great crinkle fires too!! It's a $12 lunch which isn't too bad especially given that I'mvery full and satisfied. Definitely will be returning but have to watch it cos I'm trying to loose some lbs. Read more
