I had a curbside order. When I ordered it was 40 minutes until pickup. It took over an hour. The manager was not friendly and... didn't care at all that I waited around 20 minutes after my pickup order should have been ready. When I got my order home partof it was missing. I called the restaurant and left a voice message and I have still not gotten a call back. Good food butprobably not worth the hassle... Update* the general manager called me and apologized and completely changed my negativeexperience into a repeat visit just now. Tonight service was quick and friendly. Went here over the weekend when in the area and tried the Southern Sampler. The sausage was excellent, great flavor and the... crispy skin gave some texture. The chicken was ok, needed to pull the skin off as it was rubbery but that's too be expectedwith smoked chicken. The brisket was also fine, wasn't impressed with the very thick cuts at the bottom of the pile but theflavor was fine, needed to sauce it though. Pulled pork was nothing special, needed sauce. The rib on the other hand...noflavor at all. Definitely needed to add sauce and even then. The texture was great but flavor was not. All the sauces werepretty good. Read more

Old Southern BBQ in rice lake has not only excellent food, but outstanding customer service. We ordered a big lunch order today... and 1 of the orders was made wrong, when called to let them know that the food was wrong they looked up our receipt saw that itwasn't made right, they immediately offered to replace it, deliver it to us, and gave a gift card for that meal. Melt in your mouth smoked meat, savory sides, great atmosphere. Highly recommended if your in the area.

The ribs were AMAZING but the rest of the .eat was so-so. Just a bit too dry for me. The sauces were excellent, Southern Gal... was my favorite! The perfect combo of sweet and smoky! The sides we had were the Mac n cheese, corn bread and beans. Mac ncheese had zero flavor and was too dry, corn bread just fell apart in your hand, the beans though were great! Definitely worth the visit! The worker said the chicken sandwiches were the best he's ever had so we had to try one. While it... wasn't the best we've ever had (hello, taiwanese spicy fried chicken sandwich from Chicago!), it was pretty dang good with thehand breaded, thick juicy chicken, thick pickles and soft bread. We also had the sample platter, creamed corn, and mashedpotatoes. Everything was yummy and complimented each other. The brisket had a delectable amount of perfectly charred fat bits,the chicken was surprisingly juicy and perfectly seasoned with crispy, fatty skin, and even the sausage links had good flavor!Our favorite sauce was the fire one with the habanero peppers - great combination of tangy with a teeny bit of habanero flavor(wish it was spicier, tbh). First time here, we got the Southern sample with three sides (mash potatoes, mac n cheese, cornbread). Love everything but the... ribs. They were a bit dry for us. Tried all the sauces. Plently of food for two people. Would recommend this to anyone comingtoo Rice Lake. Read more
