I initially was not going to leave a review because I forgot to take a picture but I I kept thinking about it sooooo. I usually... go to another restaurant when I have a taste for Jamaican food but I decided to try a restaurant that I had never tried. Isearched Google and decided on My Youth because it's close and the ratings is high. I get there and there were several peoplealready in line. So I immediately thought, this is going to be gooood. The young lady took my order, she was nice and friendly. I ordered Curry Chicken and Jerk Chicken ( they were out of Jerk Wings). She asked if I wanted rice and peas or white rice. Irequested rice and peas for both. Oh I also ordered a side o Callaloo. The total came up to close to $40. The young ladybrought the food to the counter, opened it up. It looked like a lot. I couldn't see the rice or the cabbages that came with it.I thought that the meat portion was so large that it covered everything. I thought I was getting a deal until I got home.Lol.... I opened the containers and started dissecting . The Curry Chicken container was full of white rice ( I requested riceand peas) with lots of curry sauce, no cabbages. The chicken was shredded as if it came from the bottom of the pot. The JerkChicken container had a handful of rice and peas with lots and lots of jerk sauce. So instead of a deal, I got duped. Okay Ihaven't mentioned how it taste. I've had better! Well I tried it but I will not be going back. The 3 stars is for the younglady, she gave excellent customer service. But the food is 1 star. This is a great place to get genuine Caribbean/Jamaican cuisine. I had the pepper steak dinner, which was seasoned to perfection... and very delicious. Read more

The pictures of My Youth that other people have uploaded are outdated, as the place has since downsized and looks a lot... different. So I have provided up-to-date pictures. Anyway, this is the first Jamaican place I've seen that sells jerk pork aswell as jerk chicken. And when they ask you if you want it spicy, boy, they do mean SPICY. And I got mine with a ginger beer, which didn't help. But it was still very good. This is one of the better Jamaican restaurants in this area, although it'sbetter for takeout now that they no longer have readily available tables. Read more

My Youth has the best customer service of any of the many Caribbean themed restaurants I?ve tried in the surrounding areas. On... top of that, they have my favorite jerk chicken and cabbage. Very rich and authentic flavors and if you like it spicy, they?vegot that covered. Highly recommend! Read more

Oh my God. Some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. And Ms. Verica was hands down the most gracious, sweetest person I've... ever met. This was my first time visiting and she and her family made certain not to make it my last time. It was so good I hadto go back a second time on the same day. She has a lunch special for $4.99 until 2pm. But I wanted the full dinner. I orderedthe large curry chicken, jerk (spicy) chicken, and pepper steak. We all sampled and devoured each plate. But that jerk was tooon point. Had to go back for seconds. Thank you Ms. Verica for a wonderful experience. I will be visiting again. Read more

The food was delicious! From the moment we walked in til when we left the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly! It actually... felt like going over to a family member's house to visit and break bread. We will definitely be coming back very often. I'msorry I got straight to business on my plate and didn't take a before picture, but did stop enough to take a picture of thedelicious plantains and the end result. Nothing left but the bones baby, hope that speaks volume for food quality, it was goodokay; plus I always ask for extra sauce for my rice and peas so it was just right! Read more
